Yeah those guys will drive SDF-DEN and back in a day...they're our biggest competition these days...

Good thing there's an ocean between the U.S. and China.

Heard UPS and FDX are getting together to build a tunnel between China and the USA. Got ta do something with all that cash:cool:

Heys guys I'm new to the scene and trying to get on at UPS also. Good posts many of you guys have. The future at UPS does seem to indicate more international growth, but very little domestic growth (by air that is). And with the potential loss of the 727's maybe a pull-back on domestic flying. Is this a fair assumption?

Fly4Food......

Every 72 that blasts off is maxed out with volume. The 9 cans are just not enough. Even Decatur requires more lift. The 72's are getting phased out because they are too small, too old, and drink too much.

Whoa, that's not nearly true. The 727s are not maxed out. On some of the lines yes, but nearly all of the flying off of reserve make you scratch your head. I'd say a third of the hot spares are launched just to fly a single jumpseater to an outbase to cover someone being sick.

Whatever happened to all the Lears we used to charter to do that? I don't sit the sort very often, but haven't noticed the Lear guys in quite a while.

nice. those teamsters are the backbone of ups. how long you been at ups anyway? (let me guess you were hired after 2004?)

good on them for getting the most in their contract. how's our scope again?

I agree BNS, I mean, those guys want job security too.

Actually I misspoke, or mistyped. UPS wants more team drivers because they are cheaper than using us. I want the airline to carry as much as possible so what does my DoH have to do with it? Are you a Teamster goon? My father was a teamster for 30 years. Please don't break my kneecaps!
