Ya what he said

Several years ago I was on a Boeing, taking off out of Stewart. It had been snowing heavily while the cans were being loaded. At about 60 KIAS on take off roll we had major electrical failure. Cause: water in the E&E compartment.

So sweeping the cans is very important!

understood/agreed/will continue in this mind-set and hope that others comply as well as come up with ideas to better combat the issue, once again, I think we should tarp em' let em' ride the ramp, then up the loader, and then right before we put em' in the A/C, un-tarp, load the can and leave the tarps on the loader. Sounds like a good idea to me, it doesn't have to be anything special, even the plastic covers that sometimes go over the cans/pallets will suffice. I will take this idea to my superiors and see what happens. I don't want ANY water/snow/glycol/ice to go into the A/C. From our view-point, it is no fun to have the rollers and ball mats gummed up, makes loading hard as-well. So getting it removed really helps everyone, IMHO. There will be some rain/ice/snow to get in the A/C from having the big doors open with a load in progress during a storm, yet we should be able to keep that to a minimum. right attitude with right equipment = success

once again, my 2cents

given the info above and your recent activity on this board, you have a lot of nerve telling Jetjok and other over 60 guys to get a life.

To quote my 3 yr old this afternoon as she skied down from 10,500ft on a bright sunny day with 2ft+ of new snow over the past couple days, "There's no corderoy today, Daddy, just powder!" :D
