To All (New and Old) ONT based pilots :-)

While I'm sure you'll here more info about this later, those of you who commute to ONT will have another carrier serving the airport starting April 2nd 2007. ExpressJet Airlines, "Jetlink", will be starting up our own little airline with the airplanes that Continental doesn't want anymore. Yes we're still a CASS airline for jumpseats, and you're always welcome. Now if you know anyone in the UPS hiring department, ;-), I'd especially like to see you on one of our flights someday.

This ought to be interesting.

So will you guys break up into 2 different companies with different pilot groups or will you be inter-mixing the crews?

I wonder if people will jump on you guys like they did with Virgin America.

One seniority list, one company, different domiciles and different pairings. That way CAL/Continental Express crew rest delays/cancellations do not effect the Xjet side of the house.

Interesting.

Not the first commuter to try this, hope it won't backfire (****es off CAL)

I live in GEG and this is gonna make my commute much easier. Any inside info on the flight schedule yet?

Also, I heard extra plush seats with three across instead of four. How do you do this and still keep it a 50 pax jet? Or are they 70 pax jet configured for 50?

And, no, don't pimp me for a recommendation. I'm pimped out....

The seats are 3 across, I guess they are just adding more padding (they were three across before)--still 50 seats. Also will have XM raido... No word yet on schedule, but you can go to xjet.com and see a route map...

Does not necessarily mean they'll have a GEG-ONT non-stop. You might have to go through a bunch of cities to get there. Like SWA.

The online reservations will be loaded into the website sometime this coming week. Probably Monday afternoon or Tuesday. It's the same 50 seat airplane (E-145s only have 1 by 2), but they're taking out the existing seats/cushions and putting in all new ones with better support/padding. The XMs been installed in our charter airplanes we're waiting for the FAA to give it the once over, and then well be allowed to push in the circuit breaker. All city pairings on the route map I believe are non-stop. So GEG-ONT should be - and it says service for GEG starts April 2nd. As far as frequency/ramp up of flights I think it will take 6-8 weeks to get the full schedule going - just in time for the summer travel season.

As for letters of Rec, I'm not above begging :).
P.S. The food will be free too.:D

I stand corrected.

So what will jumpseating priority be like? Does a CAL guy hold any priority when operated under this new company?

Sweet!!!! :D

It should be interesting to find out if CAL has any priority over other 121 carriers with the new company. The ExpressJet management hasn't released many details yet so we'll have to wait and see.

It should stay the same as it is today:
1) XJT Pilot
2) CAL Pilot, or any other CAL Connection Pilot.
- Pilots from both 1 and 2 can take the F.A. jump seat as long as their is no F.A. trying to jumpseat thereby freeing up the flight deck jumpseat for other CASS approved pilots. XJT and CAL F.A.s trump all pilots out of the F.A. jumpseat obviously.
3) All Other 121 Pilots
4) Other 135 pilots with agreements.

One hour rule still applies. Prior to one hour it's on seniority/longevity with respective companies. At one hour/inside one hour it's first come first served, but XJT pilots can bump any other airline pilot out up to 15 min prior.
