--Schedules are long haul international flying
--Reserve is usually long blocks of 15 days.
--Some trips are a few days, while some are 10-14 days.
--Time on reserve is anyone's guess.
--Trips are Pac rim, Dubai occassionally, and some SDF and ONT

747-400/MD-11 ANC flying will be the most junior FO flying by far at UPS since we have a single payscale. If hired today your second year W2 would be around 115k minimum based on guarantee with another 13k contributed into your B plan.

Dugan...I'm not sure if you're aware but ANC has only been open as a domicile for two bid periods. It's virtually impossible to predict what the lines will look like down the road. Right now, they're pretty ugly. If they continue to be as non-commuter friendly as they are right now, reserve might end up going senior in the future (because a 15 day reserve stint will enable one commute per bid period).

But it's anyone's guess. I know you're excited and trying to get a handle on your future but ANC as a domicile has virtually no documented past. Any responses you get here regarding future line construction, commutability, time on reserve and trip destinations are about as accurate as shake of the magic eight ball.

Good point EDPM!

Did I hear there is something new in your contract that limits the length of a trip you can fly to like 5-7 days. Or is the 14 day trip still popular on the long haul international? Thanks

You can't really do the around the world stuff in 5-7 days. Not with the required crew rest that we have in the contract. Previously some folks would be unlucky enough to get 2 separate 16 day blocks of reserve back to back. That would have sucked. With the new contract that would be impossible.

Your right that would have sucked to have back to back 16 days. Ouch!
