Pretty cool.

The guy that flew the first MD11 with the new paint job did my IOE. He said it was flown into MEM with lights out in the middle of the night, and locked in a hangar until the big unveiling. He screwed up and left one of his bags on the plane, and the guards wouldn't let him back in to get it....

This phrase was included in everything the company put out about the "special event and anouncement" as they put it. I thought it would be a merger/aquisition or something like that. The first time I saw the new paint job was in SLC on an MD-11 and one of our mxs' and I looked for about 45 minutes until we saw the "arrow". He said it looked cool. I told him that on the captain's side of the jet it pointed backwards!;)
