Not looking to be offensive, just concerned, the likes of Dynnamic, Skylease, Amerijet become the new potential whipsaw models.

Safe travels...

None of these airlines, and I repeat, none of these airlines will be around in 2020. To bid on and ultimately fly ACMI freight for a DHL or Amazon or anyone else requires infrastructure and planning, both of which costs a lot of up front money. I laugh every time this is mentioned. The old days of ACMI freighters is just about over. There may be the little pop-ups like Western Global, but they are not sustainable.

BTW, AJT guys were given an ultimatum by the IBT, there was no attempt by the pilots to decertify. They are close to finishing the new contract, or so I have heard. The funny part was that old Dave almost got away with a major coup before he bailed. He knew that he was selling his share, and told the pilots to get rid of the IBT. If they had, Dave would have given no pay raise (reneging on promises was his way of doing business), and would have gotten a better deal for himself in the sale. Kudos to the Dave, it would have cemented his legacy in Miami as top plantation owner.

Just a final update. AJT pilots ratified the TA, and should have been given the new pay rates after December 19th. The new rates are competitive with other ACMI carriers, with a 12yr. captain making around $181.00/hr. (with override). Signing bonuses were 7500/3500 for captains/first officers. Min. guarantee is still 60 hours, but with 13 pay periods. There were other changes in scheduling and benefits. One member of the negotiating committee said that it was more than they could have expected. The days of being a trash bag NW. 36 street operator appear over.

Much thanks and gratitude needs to go to the three principal negotiator pilots who persevered over the last seven years to bring this to a conclusion. They suffered greatly at the hands of group of "management" who were gleefully executing the whims of the previous CEO and minority owner. These management boobs were additionally supported by the old Eastern scabs and their allies, who bitterly fought any representation up until the very end. I would ask them to give up their raises and signing bonuses to whatever charity would sink low enough to speak to them.

Of the 85 pilots eligible to vote on the TA, only 50 chose to do so. Why 40% of the pilots couldn't vote is beyond me. It apparently shows that almost half the pilot group was a rat's nest of lowlifes in our industry, and should be marginalized or thrown to the wolves. Again, it shows what a small group of determined pilots can get done.

Finally, none of this could have been accomplished without the large contributions provided by Airline Division Director, David Bourne, and IBT 769 Business Agent David Renshaw. Mr. Bourne took a particular interest in the pilot group, and spent much of his time an energy on such a small group of pilots. It is a testament to his dedication to all IBT pilots, not just the groups that are the largest, and pay the most in dues. Additionally, under the direction of Mr. Renshaw, AJT was never able to outmaneuver the IBT in legal action, and his relentlessness may have convinced plantation owner Bassett to throw in the towel and abandon his "managers" for retirement.

Sweet pickings off the cherry tree...

I remember many years ago walking the hallways of AJT when they were based in FLL (been a while ago) trawling for a job, any job. I'd have been happy sweeping the hangar floor back then...

I could not be happier for a small dedicated pilot group, like the one at AJT, who have so much to gain from a first rate contract to elevate them above the 36 st. stigma they have endured.

Congratulations to you all. You deserve it...

Is the APC info fully up to date? No overnights for the 767? 8 hard days off per month? TDYs in Trinidad on the 727?
