User Fee

Bush is talking about upgrading the Air Trafic Control system spending lots of money shortly. He is also talking about starting a user fee and giving airlines more control over A.T.C? I have not looked at the figures as of late but the last I looked less than 20 percent of all the Aviation Excise Tax was being used for Aviation and the rest was going in to the General fund. I fly for a airline but also consider myself general aviation and do not want to see the airline controling more A.T.C. And I do not think there should be a user fee if we more than support are selfs.

AOPA put out a great article about this debate next week.
This page alone is shocking!

See the entire argument at:

I am totally against user fees. We have a great national airspace system that is the envy of the entire world.
WE DON'T NEED USER FEES!!!

Would you know it. Now that I spent a butt load of money upgrading the radio package in my airplane I have to pay ATC to use it.......I guess the Coast Guard next will want to charge someone every time he wants to go sailing...
