Several thoughts ...

This has been a major ALPA agenda item!*?

ICAO issued similar recommendations this week but specifically EXCLUDED cargo aircraft.

It's interesting (but important to us) that the NTSB recommendations seem to INCLUDE cargo aircraft.

It's important to remember that NEITHER of these recommendations are binding on the FAA (although they frequently incorporate ICAO recommendations).

It will be interesting to see what the FAA and the Cargo companies do now. FedEx charges significant premiums for the shipment of Hazardous Materials. Should we be worried that they'll accept the expensive shipments and consider their pilots "collateral damage"?

Q: Why?

A: $

Welcome to commercial aviation, where dollars are MORE IMPORTANT to the FAA than safety or even simple common sense.

Welcome to "supply side" economics~
