New contract coming for the ABX and ATI?

Now that they are officially in bed with Amazon and especially if Amazon exercises if purchase rights, I'll bet you that the ABX and ATI pilots will now think of themselves as peers with UPS and FedEx and not with the traditional ACMIs. Therefore, the ABX and ATI pilots will be demanding a new contract that's comparable with FedEx and UPS.

They will be our peers and should expect similar pay and benefits.

True, but will ATSG and Amazon go along? I can see this causing pilot unrest at ATSG.

Amazon is the giant of e commerce and they hired and operating an airline..It's up to the pilots to demand the pay and benefits that a future 500 company can offer. I understand Amazon doesn't own the airline but THEY are in fact operating one.

This is where it gets interesting. Amazon is funding this operation and the ATSG pilots will think of themselves as now doing the same type of flying as FedEx and UPS and should demand a FedEx/UPS comparable contract.

The question is will Amazon/ATSG pay up or will this lead to labor unrest as Amazon/ATSG tries to get this operation going in earnest.

Knowing how Bezos treat his people he will just offer free prime membership to all the pilots and tell em they're lucky few:D

Won't they have to negotiate a new contract in order to establish 747 pay rates since it's an aircraft they don't already fly? If so, why not shoot for the moon and bring pay and bennies upto par with industry leaders. It's cargo... The company always has the ability to pass cost increases to the customer and they'll pay them because planes are always faster than boats.
