Spirit and Jetblue contract isn't that good.

Well, let's see. You left off on your way to OE, with name calling and death threats, leaving us all in suspense about what you've been able to "pull off." Perhaps it's time you enlighten.
What do Spirit or Jet Blue have to do with a cargo company like Western Global, or are you simply attempting to stir more ****?

Western Global is competing with ALL aviation organizations worldwide, for pilots. Each new contract that is better than Western Global puts pressure on them to provide better Terms and Conditions for their own pilots, or risk losing them and/or not getting enough new hires.

There is some amount of truth in your statement, however, that pressure diminishes greatly unless it’s from other ACMI operators. Which, for the most part at WGA, it is not. Many (most?) of the folks coming in couldn’t seem to care less about what Spirit or Jet Blue are paying. It’s much more about the ACMI flying and one’s ability to adhere to that lifestyle than monetary considerations. And, given the three-ringed circus that was once the passenger cabin, that decision to go ACMI continues to get even easier. While in the air, I have had 150 lb dogs ****ting in the isle in 1st class, male flight attendants *****-slapping each other in the galley, a Capuchin monkey seat hopping, and a woman running up and down the isle yelling with her belt in her hand playing ringmaster and telling the rest of the animals that they’d better stay in their seats. How do you put a dollar figure on THAT? And, where I was once a glorified bus driver between the same old city pairs, now I’m bouncing in nearly every continent. So yeah, while deciding to apply here, ask me if I gave a crap about Southwest’s new contract. That said, let’s look at our true competition and how we stack up. If one does that math, they’ll find that we match up pretty favorably with the top dogs (NPI) in the ACMI freight world. I think there’s only one that beats us pay-wise by a margin worth mentioning. The few others at the top are pretty close pay-wise but then there are the QOL and other factors at many of them that leave you wondering. Including acrimonious relations with management and backbiting within the pilot group. At several, the guys arent confident of getting a check every payday. Fortunately, you won’t find that here. We also have a bit of a self-vetting process going on here where an internal recommendation goes a long way. It seems to be doing a decent job in keeping the pilot group a very cohesive one. Every now and then a special tool has made it into the box, but that appears to be improving now too. I think most of us here consider it to be a pretty damned good place to be.
