Default ATI Information

I am thinking of applying to ATI. Could someone give me an idea of the typical schedule? Is it possible to bid domestic flying in the first year? Can you break up the 18 day schedule instead of being gone for 18 days?

Bids are 28 day cycles built to 16 on 12 off. there are some lines with trips with 3, 4 or 5 days out. Company likes to keep these to a minimum because of the travel cost to get you to your assignment being that you are "home based".

Hope this helps,

FAJ

We also have LITS (long international trip sequence)

In short you're out longer, you make rig, second half of bid will have more days off.

It sounds really scary but you get to the point you like the long string of days off.

You also have to bid twice for vacation (long story of that snafu) but you can on occasion get over a month off sometimes 2 by getting creative.

Your chances of getting a domestic line would be very high, or at least getting a pure Reserve line, which would most likely result in a domestic assignment. For instance, at the moment, we only have 12 purely international lines. A few have some mixed int'l/domestic, and the rest (about 25 or so) are purely domestic. Plus another 6 pure Reserve lines for FOs. We anticipate more domestic flying. Any new international flying would most likely be ad hoc.

FAJ and CTR are correct, except that for now, we do not use the LITS provision. Our longest trips are 16 days at the moment. And with our current expectations, there should be no need to use it. But the basic premise is 16 days "on" and 12 days "off". Most travel is on your days "on", but that may vary depending on where you live.

Good luck!

Yeah, we are stretched with Amazon right now. Actually, our line that utilized LITS ended. It is however a side letter agreement and may be implemented, just a FYI.

Also, don't be holding your breath on it. I know for a fact that our line builder in scheduling has/is trying to do week on week off like we had years ago. I think as Amazon and ILN grow this could be a possibility.

Personally in my whole career the week on week off was my favorite schedule. Not to long to be out and a week off was just right.

Oh adding one more thing

If we had someone on our scheduling committee that had some serious testicular fortitude or perhaps would treat a deserving crew scheduler (who is single in a small town) to a good time we'd get week on week off. No doubt in my mind

Just sayin

The 7 on 7 off has been batted around by Crew Planning/Scheduling for awhile since we started Amazon. The idea is just kinda stalled out right now. It's just that they are a bit inundated with planning new lines and also subbing in for Training Scheduling. But it's coming.
