TiredSoul:

First year is probationary year. Typically that means you can't vote on union issues and you aren't protected legally by the union either in the event you pork something up. You're sort of in limbo until day 366 with the company... worst case scenario would be some big time labor dispute (like this lawsuit may shape up to be) and the company can screw with you because the union rules don't apply.

They allegedly fired new pilots for posting negative comments about the company on our union FB forum. 35+ pilots left last month. Hundreds more have interviews or are in the pool somewhere waiting to leave. Company answers by suing us. Other ACMI carriers can rejoice in the fact that Atlas now has filled the void left by Evergreen as the lowest QOL carrier!

Why the fall from grace? Why doesn't Atlas' union file to make SAI a single carrier with Atlas and use Atlas' current contract until they can negotiate something better?

That's the unions position and they feel they have precedence on their side. Company obviously disagrees. The company feels they could negotiate something in the middle. The union counters by saying that at the time of the SAI merger, the union and company were already engaged in section 6 negotiations, although that specific time frame was prior to the amendable date of the current contract. The company filed a grievance that went nowhere. Now they are suing to get a judge to rule on whether they move forward with an amalgamated contract or negotiate a new contract.

The fall from grace is due to the fact that others have gotten significantly better contracts and we still operate under a crap CBA that was shoved down our throats years ago.

IF the union files single carrier then the process of amalgamation starts. It is exactly what management wants.

So FlatBiller what carrier do you work for and what is your specific job? I have read all your previous posts and you sure aren't a line pilot.

How about that in the couple days you've been registered to post, 90% of your posts are baiting/pot stirring? Line pilots tend to take the temperature of the room before opening their mouths.

Ignore the clown boy troll. He appears here regularly under various guises and eventually gets banned. Same MO, same posts from the same Mommy's basement. Boring......don't feed him.
