Atlas Files Lawsuit Against Their Own Pilots

Today Atlas filed a lawsuit against their pilots to try to force a contract amalgamation down the throats of Atlas and Southern pilots.

DO NOT APPLY AT ATLAS! DO NOT LET YOUR FRIENDS APPLY AT ATLAS!

It is now going to get really ugly at Atlas over the coming months and it would suck to be an FNG on probation and without union protection!

So very sad. Abandon hope all ye who enter here...:(

What are they suing over or for?

They are suing to force the union to accept almagamation of contracts between Atlas and USAIR rather than continue with section 6 negotiations. Pretty sad actually.

Uhhhh.......***?

Are you sure they are not suing to force amalgamation between Atlas and TWA? Maybe its Atlas and Pan Am?

I think he meant Southern Air. But you gave me a good laugh first thing in the morning!:)

I'm certainly not an insider but it is my understanding that the union filed with the NMB for a determination on the section 6 status and its continuation or implementation of amalgamation. I was told that management in as much words said at the check airman meeting that if the NMB found against them, they would take us to Federal court. So he we are going to Federal Court before the NMB ruling. (Or did I miss that?) Did they get a heads up that they were going to lose that one? The sad thing from here on, as it has been for a year now......everyone is going to lose. This could have been a truly great company to work for, with a great business model that only works if you have a solid and expanding loyal and long term pilot cadre. There is so much business available and plenty more in the coming years, it's crazy. This is a tragic situation for the many great employees here, not just the pilots, everyone. The stockholders are going to get the shaft too. Sad.

Wow, that's a hard core management team. It sounds like forcing change from within may be impossible. People need to vote with their feet and get out.
