Default My favorite town in Mexico

I do a lot of flying down south and I love it. There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the overnights down there but if any of you have an overnight in Queretaro, Mexico you must go downtown. The city is extremely safe, very clean, lots of restaurants and shops. If you want some cheap and authentic food stay away from the restaurants on the square and find some of the hole in the wall places around there. Really a great place.

I spent a lot of time in Queretaro, and love the place. Terrific hospitality, many good restaurants, and wonderful weather. Not far away is San Miguel de Allende, which is full of artists from all over the world. It also has good restaurants and many galleries to visit.

The road that connects San Miguel to Guanajuato passes through Dolores Hidalgo, a town with an active ceramic industry. Great place to shop for tile, dishes, etc.

Guanajuato was formerly a silver mining town, and has unusual topography. It's known for its caves filled with mummified corpses. Quite unusual.

I've had many great experiences in Mexico, and highly recommend it.

Agreed! We had a 24-hour layover in BJX and the city was one of the cleanest places I've ever seen. Gorgeous architecture, interesting history...spent about 5 hours just strolling around town. Looking forward to going back.
