I don't think it is required any longer. Individual Aerosim licenses are no longer distributed. Our class was given laptops to use and then turn in after training was completed. With that said I prefer to keep my notes and data on my machine vs a company one so I was lugging around 2 for a bit. An iPad for all of the manuals is far more useful if you don't own one yet.

Is there something more to the story?
During training a PC Computer will be provided for things that are not Apple compatible. The EFB’s on the airplanes right now are window based programs. Manuals, email, and company website requirements can be downloaded onto PC or Apple. Most pilots have bought cheap PC laptops for just Omni CBT’s when they pop up during the year. That’s today, who knows what will be tomorrow.

Btw. You will probably want a phone with an international plan in place too. Not provided by the company either. And another $500 in vaccines, and...

Default Interview Invite

I got an email letting me know I am in the FO candidate pool. When I got the email inviting me to sign up for an interview, the 3 dates (Sept 14, Oct 10, Oct 17) were already full. Anyone know how long it takes more slots to open up? Will we be notified when they open or are we just expected to check the website every day? Thanks

Anyone else in the FO pool still waiting to sign up for an interview? I got the email and tried to sign up the next day but apparently they are all booked. Any idea when more spots will open up? Will we be notified or do we just have to keep checking that website?

Well I think it's clear that you're really interested in Omni, that should work in your favor!

I would call or email them.

When I was in the candidate pool this spring, I checked the interview calendar about every hour. I called HR and they said when a spot opens, they populate it on the calendar ASAP. After a few days, one date finally opened up a for few weeks out, so I snagged it. A few days later another date popped up even earlier and I swapped to it.

Keep checking that calendar and snag the first date you see. The interview experience was top-notch and I start training next month. Good luck!

And I was only partially kidding. If it's where you want to be, keep after it. The HR people have always been pretty nice in my experience, I would email them.
