Omni interview
#41
Last I heard (December) was 1 767-300ER coming in May. 3 more in 2018/2019. So 4 more 767-300ERs coming to Omni. Source certainly seemed reputable.

I know with the new TA there will be some updated info. Whenever anyone gets the info, could we get an update on:
1) Average credit hours per month
2) Details on the interview process
3) Any updates on training pay? I.e., paid hotel & per diem while in training.
I know some of this stuff has been answered previously, but I’m trying to get the most updated info.
I’m hearing from some Atlas guys that: Even with the new Omni TA, because of only getting min guarantee, Atlas is still the better option from a pay & schedule standpoint.
Two guys that I have spoken with are crediting 80+ hours per month at Atlas.
Thanks fellas!

4yr CA pay at Atlas on the same fleet is 105k. Ours is 162k. Even the 747 rates under current contract are well below ours and you probably won’t spend 4 months on training pay at Omni as the Atlas page says OE is quite backed up there. Honestly, if your buddies are there it might be worth it just for that and they should have a new contract with higher pay in place at some point in the near future. Our new TA from a pay/401k/benefits standpoint is clearly better but that’s only a few pieces of the puzzle.
Hotel is also paid for. Training pay used to be 500/wk but I think that might have changed...Working on getting some more recent hiring gouge linked soon as well.

I believe no one is making more than 80 hours without giving up days off, hostile flying or working days off after a sick call. Giving the company days off only prolongs this pathetic contract covering a work group already severely restricted by the RLA. Go somewhere with a new contract, happy people and available overtime(that’s not frowned on by your peers).

If you’re looking for a type and some different flying until your career airline calls go to Kalitta, Omni or some where you get paid a good wage. A good wage without having to give up excess days off and suffer alienation from your peers who are leading the good fight.
