Starting a 135 or something similar

Hi Everyone,

Been out of aviation for a while and I am back CFIing again. I have a good job, meet part 135 minimums, and have some resources. The thought came into my mind: is there any value in starting some sort of 135 cargo hauling business or anything else where I could work for myself?

I don't have dreams of big shiny jets, going fast, or traveling the world. I think if I went back in aviation, I would want it somewhat on my terms. The airlines/unions aren't for me. I don't even care if I am flying multi-engine.

What say the more knowledgeable guys and gals on here about starting a 135, aerial surveying, or some other type of venture on my own? Probably a terrible idea, but hey, why not ask?

Thanks for any input!
Andy

Those days are gone. Unless you have access to a pile of money nobody needs.

Can't say I'm surprised. Probably best that I CFI for fun and keep raking in money at work! Hate the rat race but every summer weekend on the boat and every winter weekend CFIing is not a bad gig.
