Not a surprise, when Darrel Richardson took over in 2015 he vowed to turn the airline into basically EAS air with jets. So basically went from NASCAR and sports teams to that garbage. Shortly after that most of were laid off anyway so it kinda worked out for all of us.

Have to wonder what Ted V's intentions really were. I watched this mess closely every day. When I chose to not show up for training on nothing more than a hunch, I was kicking myself for not doing it for the short time existed. Afterall, home every night and pay was at least tolerable. Man I dodged a bullet. Proof that instinct is a real and valid thing. I'm just baffled as to what the mindset was for buying an airline than doing everything but sabotage it.

Dear Mr. Schlemmer:
California Pacific Airlines continues internal reorganization efforts in the interest of restarting operations. The relaunch is panned to be limited to Supplemental operations as well as scheduled service with a Carlsbad, California hub. The restart will be staffed with essential personnel only with the intent of organically growing the company over time in the interest of financial and operational stability. For that reason, the company will not be able to complete the Essential Air Service contract serving the cities of Pierre and Watertown, South Dakota, as part of the relaunch.
In a company meeting earlier this morning, President and CEO, Theodore Vallas reported that the company is finalizing arrangements in the purchasing of two aircraft. Mr. Vallas also indicated that the company intends to recall employees soon.
As we proceed with the planned of relaunch, I will communicate with the DOT to ensure we meet economic authority requirements. We will also work with our FAA Certificate Management Office inspectors to ensure we meet operational/safety requirements in support of the relaunch.

Californian entrepreneur Ted Vallas says he has not forsaken California Pacific Airlines (4A, Pontiac) and will recapitalize and relaunch the stalled carrier.
CPAir, as it is more commonly known, ceased all flight operations on January 16 citing a lack of suitably trained flight crews. It had operated a fleet of four E145s on scheduled flights out of Carlsbad, CA (ended in late 2018) as well as on essential air services between Denver Int'l and Watertown, SD (end in mid-January).
Speaking to The Coast News, TG Vallas, Ted Vallas’ nephew and secretary of the Board of Directors, said up to USD38 million will be invested in the airline along with a USD12 million line of credit. The funds will be used to pay off debts, said to amount to at least USD10 million, and to acquire two refurbished E145s and lease two more E-Jets - one E145 and one E135.
With funding in place, he said he hoped to have CPAir back in the air in "less than three months". According to him, flights will cover Carlsbad, CA to Phoenix Williams Gateway, Denver Int'l, San José, CA, Orenburg, Tucson Int'l, Las Vegas McCarran, and Sacramento Int'l. CPAir will also avoid charters and EAS flying, he said.

These guys think of pilots as pre madonna's who are overpaid and don't work enough. If they are so in tune with the industry they should just "do the right thing" by their people. Pay them what the market is dictating or else just fail again.

Actually, they need to pay the pilots somthing, anything. Apparently, no one was paid at all while they were in operation. Heard stories from the wife of one of the pilots that would make your head spin. Nothing short of a large miracle could possibly bring it back to life again. Although, it is aviation. Crazier things have happened..
Well same thing happened in 2015, they started delaying payroll because customers had not paid the company. Not to far after that half of us were on the street.
