That would make sense.. Airlines like Swift employ the unemployable. DUIs, Violations, HR problems, etc. Those guys are just darn glad to have a flying job even if its with an outfit like Swift and will do anything and everything to adapt to a bad corporate situation.

I retired, 20+ years of night cargo for big brown will take its toll on anyone
After 2 years Ipad to get back but not cargo. Had no idea who swift was but gave them a shot. It’s no where near the regimented structure of a UPS but that’s what I love about it. Constantly changing missions, we fly a big variety of customers It suites me well. And yes 121 majors do ask you to extend or accept reduced rest. Hell we had the damn cargo cutout. With 117. My buddy at UAL complains of the same thing. So you must be a Delta boy lol

One would think that with 20 years seniority, you would be able to bid better lines affording a better life style. I have to ask, however, how of a pay cut did you take to join Swift. Mind you I don’t have a dog in this back and forth bantering.

nope, duty extensions outside the regionals are exceptionally rare. It can vary some with training bubbles on a specific fleet type, but overall they are extremely rare. Being that your just now getting to live under 117 you’re only going by the few, not the norm. I’ve not had one at my carrier. When they become routine, you’re not doing it right.

If you like swift, then go do it for a reputable carrier. You’ll like it better and see how ridiculous your posts have been.

4 years at a major and I was only asked to extend once and that was because the whole NE corridor was shut down for 4 hrs and no moved.
no one should make excuses for poor scheduling.

They'll assign a trip with the expectation that the crew will extend. If you refuse, everyone from the COO down will threaten you, and/or retaliate if the threat doesn't work. Banished a CA to FO flying cargo to teach him a lesson for refusing. He doesn't work here anymore

This ^^^
That hasn’t changed since the days I was there so don’t hold your breath that it ever will.
Scheduling trips within 15 min of max FDP and knowing that flights always incur a delay at destination as that happens every single time.
You also can’t plan a 45 min turn in a country where it takes that long to get pax off the plane.
Unforeseen delay....such a “flexible” term.

It's cycled between crazy and insane for the 2 1/2 years I've been here. I'm guilty of being dumb enough to believe all the 'Our competition is Allegiant' and iAeros going to start scheduled service'..blah.blah, Fn blah. The ONLY way they measure success is by profits. They don't care about making this a great place to come too and stay. Forget about being proud to work here..I'm embarrassed to say I work for iAero/Swift. We're laughing stocks, As long as sociopaths are driving this clown car nothing's gonna change

When I worked for an ACMI like this I had an app that would record phone calls of numbers i chose. Everytime i got a call from a company number I'd answer by saying this call is being recorded. They stopped messing with me.
hopefully those trying to leave get a call soon. I didnt even come close to imagining how much better it was somewhere else till the day I was in ground school at a new airline.

I guess I must be special, Ive grounded ICE flights, timed out in the middle of trips. Written stuff up. I have never be coerced to anything nor had retaliation for anything.
