Trip rigs, duty rigs, pay protection for awarded lines. And paid reserve is industry standard, not like we are trying to re invent the wheel.
They say they are competing with the regionals....while the regionals have all of that.
We can agree the soft pay needs to be fixed, because that is were QOL and compensation makes a difference.

IWA is a bit more on the senior side, but seems some new hires that wanted it got it. Best QOL in the system is IWA. Good block hour and home every night! I think they might have added some IWA pilots due to the contract in Laughlin, NV for Caesars.
CA might take a bit longer I’d definitely say a lot more than a year for IWA CA. I think if I remember most junior IWA CA has been here almost 2 years.
IWA min days off 12 off. Block hours 70-90 a month. IWA does ice, wendover and laughing flying.

You are loosing pay. Every day you aren't home, you're loosing pay. If you're sitting around not flying, you're loosing pay.

We all know what they think is competitive is a far side from reality. But you have to remember from where our pay structures evolved. We all used to be salaried employees. There never was such a thing as hourly compensation except for block hour pay. So none of that language translated well when we went to block hour pay. The only reason our guarantee is 60 is because payroll can make the math easily to compare it to a 40hr work week every month.
It’s an evolving piece! Believe me I go through this daily talking to new folks and tell them what it is needed.
As I mentioned Before we speak of pay raises work rules need to be added to comply with industry standard on soft pay.
-dh Pay 100%
-min day 3-4 hrs(Mia needs that)
-rsv should count for 4 hrs
- ready reserve 6hrs
- 401K matching, cant be a career airline if we have a crappy retirement program.
- higher per diem for both domestic and intl. cost of living has gone up sometimes you can’t find cheap food in some places. Healthy food can come at a premium.
-maybe an incentive pay such as block more than 80hrs and everything after will be 150%, but this might be a crapshoot.
So again these are things everyone is aware of. People think it just gets locked away and no one talks about it. But I do believe they need to stop saying they’re competitive. I just always tell new hires it needs work. But just wanted to give y’all some perspective on the evolution of our pay here. I’ve been he almost 4 years and have seen the transition.
You can make money here and that’s no lie. You just got to know how to manipulate their system and pick open time worth picking up on block hour pay or based upon a min day pay for OT. Once you figure that out of all you want is to make money you can do well here.
There’s no secrets we tell new people what to expect and what things are. We paint the good the bad and the ugly. Letting you make an informative decision whether you want to be here or not.
I always say, If you hate it here, I’ll tell you, well quit! Nobody is forcing you to stay, there’s no contracts. Gojet is still hiring DECs. Frontier and spirit are hiring. If you don’t like it here just leave your negativity at home, don’t spread your cancer here to eager new people wanting to come here with an open mind. As a pilot here you are a representative of the company and if you come here spreading your misery and negativity then that’s how the rest of the industry perceives us when they see you walking around F terminal and see a Swift pilot. If you’re not happy here then by all means find something else. I like flying with folks that like to have fun and bring a good energy to what we do. When we’re doing a good job and having fun this will never become work.

Just finished training last week and I figured I can give an individual perspective.
I was in January 6th class. There were no issue with the company providing us air and ground transportation to Greensboro. As a matter of fact, crew scheduling and Brian called us during the travel day to confirm there weren't any hiccups.
1st day of class is pretty much orientation/paperwork/picture taking.
We were given 60 hours of CBT training prior to the class. Some received that training a month ahead of the class and some a week before the class. You can guess which of them finished it on time.
Ground school is basic indoctrination stuff. The instructor is calm and is an ex 121 airline guy. What I really liked about this airline is the fact that everyone from the top management came down and introduced themselves, gave their perspective and where the company is headed in future. The chief pilot is also pilot's guy.
Simulator training was also non issue. It is conducted at PanAm in Miami by Swift's instructor. Check ride is in classic 737 sim followed by LOFT training in NG. Guys that have had previous 121/corporate or any kind of fast paced airline experience had no issues. The guys that struggled were the ones that came from Tours/Instructing background. It is a fast paced course. We finished our training in 41 days. In my opinion, guys with no experience are better of going to regional to get more structured training.
Overall, company has a good head or heads on its shoulder. They want you to succeed and will work with you. Company is making money. Upgrades are less than a year. It definitely beats going to SUN COUNTRY. Most of us are waiting for IOE now. The government shutdown didn't help with releasing new Check Airmen. So far, my experience has been excellent and hope it continues in that direction.
