When you broke guarantee in Miami did you live there or constantly call crew scheduling? Were you working on days off? Were you completing consolidation? Its a little odd because not even during March Madness did I break guarantee.
Yes, yes and yes. Pick up a double at 300% and it pays 18 hrs... All open time is 200%, making money down there is easy...if you are willing to give your days off.

A few days later all that extra flying I picked up is removed. WT.F?!?? The second time I had done the same and confirmed the dates (thinking I had gotten a little smarter). Then i receive a call from the schedulers saying “HOME BASED PILOTS CANNOT PICK UP OUT OF BASE FLYING”.

So tell me how home based pilots are supposed to make o/t?

As far as the sporadic overtime emails (1-2x a month with 2-3 open legs), lets be honest Mexi, they are for captains or people already in base. The one we just had was for 2 captain trips. To this day I have never been given any open assignment from an email looking for pilots and I respond very quickly to those if I have the day off that they are looking for. Theres major favoritism going on here. Nobody gives AF. You really wont find anyone here that says anymore than ‘damn thats effed up’.

As of right now I make $2970.00 a month after taxes. The guarantee is $3960. Is it worth it to fly a clapped out 737 18 hours a month? And remember if you're in Miami, you're paying for a crashpad. So if you break 60, its paying for the shared room and you just made the same thing I did. 119’s don't care about your pay. Management doesn't care about your pay. Your fellow pilots are working on varying scales and agreements. Once again, nit being dramatic, theres proof behind all of these words.

Haven’t ever been denied OT out of base. New one on me.

Do you all have a 737-200? Saw one in RDU that looked like swift colors.

Congrats on the iAero deal. I'm sure it will bring opportunity and growth. It sounds like an exciting time for Swift.

What kind of schedule can a junior, home-based FO expect? I know it varies, but most months are we talking 17+3 day ACMI-style periods away from home or shorter and more frequent trips? Thanks.

The lines are designed that way on purpose.

Right now there is a major problem with observing seniority for upgrade, fair treatment for pay, and improving QOL. You are much better off working elsewhere. This company is not fully staffed and has resorted to subverting the pilot group in favor of contract DEC’s and F/O’s! What other companies in the USA do you know of, that have a problem attracting first officers-to the point where they offer higher pay to contract foreign pilots with FAA credentials?

This is not a desirable place to work right now. Morale is at an all time low. People are leaving, management could care less.

Im not being the least bit dramatic.

Tiredsoul was absolutely right.
Ramdoroute is correct this is not a good place don't come here. We even hired direct captains who left in 4 months recently.
Seniority is non existent and experience totally ignored.
iAero already regretted the moment they bought this place.
That's why they have no even manifested any word yet.

Can I ask what’s keeping you guys here with all the hiring that’s going on? UPS parking 747-8 not enough pilots, all majors hiring 20-60 per month?

Again all experiences here are going to vary, some got the bad out of this place, it can happen. The guy mentioned that told him no pick ups out of base don’t work here anymore. He has since been fired in March. He caused rifts between FAs and pilots alike. He was a straight up d@ck.

For me and it’s been good, I do sometimes want to slam my phone in the wall because they do something backwards, but it is what it is.

I do not know what iaero will do management wise, we definitely need some experience from the majors or LCCs to come and bring this place up from the limbo of mom and pop shop to a 30 plus airplane operation. It won’t happen overnight, but can only hope it will have a positive impact in this place.

Seniority, they use it for the most part for bidding, vacation, vacancies etc.Remember we’re not unionized. So a lot of things go merit based. Your attitude and performance go a long way here. If you come here hating life, complaining about everything under the sun, then stay at mesa we don’t need that. We have enough of our problems to deal with.

Stay in your lane, learn to play the game and you’ll succeed in the swift game. It’s not difficult. Diplomacy goes along way and having a way with people helps.

As I mentioned a lot here this place is far from perfect. It will never be wn or dl. Can you make money? Yes we have 200k captains. Need a day off and couldn’t get it there’s ways around!

If you’re having problems here probably need to check your strategy, because I bet your name is on some white board somewhere. Slow down, rethink and don’t attack these people, this is a small company and your name gets around quick if you’re being a d-bag. Just saying words of wisdom.
