Any word on the Europe flying? Does that bid senior??

There will be no Europe flying this year. All 5 of Swift’s 800s are going over. 3 will be flown by Czech pilots, and 2 by contractors hired by Swift. The contractors will be paid 2x as much as Swift pilots flying their normal schedules in the US.

Seriously. Europe flying (and the associated pay) is the reason many of us are still here.

I mean they did it last year except our guys went. If we would get soft pay benefits and block time raises and something in play for QOL instead of 18 days on no matter what, they wouldn’t have to hire contractors. I’m an advocate for the right thing not a bait and switch.

they rather pay a guy 15000$ a month to come in have to complete Basic Indoc, Systems and a PC for the type rated guys, then pay the guys they have here. Now there is a rumor pay raise is coming but why nothing in writing? Is it or isn’t true? No one knows expect the EXECUTIVES.

you would go to believe they would send updates on all things changing with the company to keep people intrigued and hanging on but nothing it’s crickets. The Cuba flying is in question because the government is shutting down the loophole, so rumor has it they are going to Create another one, but again no update. Guess what happens with no updates people flee.

Well alot of captains didnt know how to read jepps so that didnt help. FYI/PSA; If youre flying a 737 you should know how to tell where you are on the airport surface using a diagram, or read the notes on the 10-7 pages.

Also, Smartwings is doing subservice for flyDubai, and it seems their contract work will be extended due to flyDubai’s dependence on the MAX. Lets be honest guys, the Smartwings folks will take a Swift 73 more seriously than the majority of Swifties (MX included) would.

The real issue is understanding how European pilots can fly a november tail on a 121 MX program...

But yeah, we know you came from the LRJET, its on the FAA site.

But just to confirm... you turned down several salaried corporate positions which all have a better QOL than swift offers....to be an F/O with no care to upgrade? So that means your either a lifer SIC or not qualified/desirable for a PIC job. Thanks for making Swift look like a place that houses the undesirablezzzzzz

I came from a way bigger jet than a LR jet, I don’t want to be a lifer FO been here 9 months. Sometimes money isn’t everything.

Part of an interview with David Neeleman

On Charters and Other Distractions

Cranky: Let’s talk about charters.

David: There’s just a big need for charters. Big airlines are not really suited to do charters. You’ve got Swift out there. You know Swift is up to like 36 airplanes doing charters, all kinds of different charters. You’ve got sports charters and team charters, special event charters, and some flying low-utilization between certain markets. We’re gonna do all the above. We have a person that actually worked for me at Morris Air years and years ago. We started together. He came over from Swift, so we’ve got a lot of opportunities on charters. And those are very low risk obviously because you get paid before you ever take off. [The 195s are] perfect for that type of flying as well.
