Eastern is hiring

After 39 years in this paid hobby of ours I've learned two very important lessons
1) Have additional sources of income
2) Having the rug pulled from under your feet is not that big of a deal when you always seem to find a way to land on your feet.

A couple of things
The history of this particular operation is pretty poor. Quite a number of pilot’s quit to go to Omni recently, mostly captain’s. They went to help with the recent shutdown of a UK airline and the two aircraft were AOG. Three of the eight 767’s have been sitting in Miami for months. They have a terrible reputation already and they’re just getting going, AGAIN. Dynamic was really something.
If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I’d like to read the fine print on the new contract and also see if they’re going to invest in the operation itself. Buying old clapped out 767s or 777s is pretty much a recipe for disaster.
Eastern part 3, what could happen right? They (oops, dropped the Dynamic name) were sued all over the place for their outrageous performance. Went out of business, supposedly, and some how from the ashes rose the Phoenix.
Like most 36th street operations, they will find people. Always have, always will. Miami Air alone can crew half the fleet. World Atlantic is hurting and I won’t mention that other place but, you know whom they are. I would not leave a job to go to Eastern part 3.

You need to understand a very basic truth about life..."for every man, there is a woman" a.k.a "there's somebody for everybody" (post-conservative counter culture).
There is a cadre of pilots that are suckers for punishment. They dont want or believe in long term stability. They are used to hopping from left-seat to left-seat wherever they go. They dont want to go somewhere else where they have to sit in the right seat. So places like Centurion/Swift/World Atlantic and Eastern 1/2/3/etc remain staffed...no matter the reputation.

NO ONE, in their right mind will Jumpseat on a " 36th Street company " unless they are stuck without a better option. Then, you will say a extra prayer, and kinda hold to your seat. Like flying on a Russian airline in the late 80's, through the 90's

Since they are offering more $$, for the same B$ everywhere else, why not take advantage of it.

I did enjoy the life lesson though " someone for everyone " stuff. I am sure you have more teachings you can share?
