XTRA is not a 36th street outfit and is not a dedicated Charter operator. It's a scheduled domestic B737-800 operator. I was on the FAPA meeting a few days ago, and they seem to have a pretty solid Leadership Group, investors, financing and a pretty standard ULCC business plan. They're changing their name and a complete re-branding to come soon. Xtra and Breeze definitely got my attention. Some good news in 2020.
Just found out who their CP is. Pretty soon it will be a 36 st Squad...

Yes it is indeed a place to be careful of
Xtra has a long poor history and is very similar to other 36 street “Gangs”. Nothing ever good comes of these places and once you get in, it’s hard to get out. Stay away from these “Outfits”! The CP indeed comes from that 36 street mind set and will rid homself of people that don’t “Fall in”. Wait it out or find employment elsewhere. Just read the numerous posts on the history of Mijami and the companies that grew there. How and why the FAA let’s it continue is beyond me.

Fair point but
They moved to Miami, after merging Skyking with Casino Express no? They actually never went out of business and have kept that -400 busy. I don’t know the CP personally but know he comes from the Miami “operators”. They just think differently is all. I also believe that like Biscayne, no more of those pesky unions! It might explain why they are hiring Capts and FOs. Did they not send 6 or 7 airplanes to the place that starts with an S? Wouldn’t they get first rights? My point, is this is exactly how 36th street airlines operate, always have always will. Now as far as starting another LCC right now, I think it’s Nuckin’ Futs but I thought that about JetBlue and boy did I get that one wrong. You can take the airline out of Miami but not Miami out of the airline. 36th street has always been a plague on the industry not matter what or where they came from. It just kept A LOT of scabs employed and I have an utter distaste for scabs.
All just taking points not trying to have an argument. It’s getting hit over the head lessons here. Oohhhh, no it’ Whhhaaaaa!

yeah they kept that 400 flying to keep the certification alive. The guys who bought it are planning another ULCC, we'll see how that goes and they've already hired and trained initial guys. They are headquartered in Huston so maybe they are moving out of the Miami FSDO.
I totally agree about the 36th street statements..
