Chartering a 717

Anyone know ballpark figure how much a 717 charter would run hourly?

Call Delta and find out

Too many variables. For a day trip, $30k/hour is probably a good ballpark starting point.

There are companies that will do a 717 size trip for less than that for sure.... if it must be a 717 then yes Delta is your only show, but I think 15-20k a hour a more of a going rate. If your flex-able into 734/MD83/722 types your going to be alot less assuming you can get it on a one way rate or near to its base.

As the above op says there are many variables that effect your quotes.

For 717? That is what Gulfstreams go for.

$30k is pretty high, even for a 767.

I don't think you can flat rate compare private business jet charter with cattle car and cargo hauler. Apples and Oranges. Different purpose, different clientele.

About 20 years ago, a retiring SFO 747-400 Capt leased a United 747 for a 1-hr retirement flight. He had fellow pilot friends volunteer to fill the other seat, and Flight Attendant friends volunteered to work the cabin.

It was a Part 91 flight, and he loaded up family and friends for a VFR tour around the Bay Area.

I believe it cost him about $25,000.

I thought that was pretty cool.

MD-80 numbers a bit old (2017). $3400-3800 per hour. One outfit was $6,000 per hour. All were plus fuel and crew costs (changed for per diem, hotels, and travel if required). 4 hrs minimum per day (negotiable)

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 12:16 PM.
