I think the biggest issue is that there is no real public transportation that serves the airport.
The Town of Islip's politicians also create many of the airport's problems, and as you've stated, aircraft noise is indeed an issue.
When SWA pulled the ISP-MDW flights down, it meant first going south to BWI for mid-west and west coast flights.

Not sure about a formal lock but no 757 guy has switched to the 747. Both 747 are up for sale so who knows what will happen. JB is now back as our DO. Been told that he was at Sky King when they went tango uniform. Guess he'll do the same for National now. Front office exodus is in full swing from what I hear.
Stay away.

N567CA If you don't like it then leave as many have said lots of work out there!
This is the exact reason why so much dead wood as been removed from the company, no one gave a ****. We had a President that had no interest in the 47s only his own global passenger operation and the less said about that the better, not to mention the old DO that was freaking clueless.
The staff that want to make this place a success now have the backing at the DO and presidential level to do that.
Yes both 47s are for sale but to will replaced by factory freighters.

Major 747 expansion it says and looking for drivers, WITH, wait for it, Gateway basing! Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!!!
Anyone still in the know? I do see the 747s flying a lot lately but the deal has got to be better, better than at least Western Global but not sure if it will be. Deadheading in economy just isn't going to fly!
