It's also easier to fly "through" the flight director when necessary, or use the relevant data, with a sperry style flight director.

Do pilots and flight attendant crews usually stay together for the entire stretch ? If Omni provides home basing does the pilot keep airline miles or hotel points, and is there a provision for business class travel if international positioning is required ?

Thanks!
They will position you from your home (gateway) airport. There is a list of approved airports that you can be gatewayed to/from. I have been commercialled to dozens of different places in the states, and internationally…Germany, Bulgaria, Ireland, Honolulu, just to name a few. FAs don’t always stay with us, depends where we are and how they are scheduled. We keep all the miles and points from hotels and airlines. Business class for international flights. They offer a payout before every biz class ticket is booked…I’ve been offered as high as $1400 to take a coach ticket versus take the biz class. I have never taken the pay out, and very rarely does anyone ever take the payout.

2 years? Hah, that’s funny. No, not after the street captains were hired in late 2019. There are currently 21 of them (all 767) on the list, that really drove the upgrade time quite a bit. Two 777 upgrades were awarded within the last week or so, both guys being here about 4 years. I have not heard anything about any 767 upgrades although would not be surprised to see a class run by the end of the year, especially as we have quite a few that have left to other airlines. VH is done, it is confirmed to be completely gone permanently. Last year, I flew just over 400 hours this year I’ll be lucky to break 200. You won’t break the 64 hour guarantee unless you VOL days off, but at that point it doesn’t matter since all that time is going above guarantee anyways. Special program is 80 hour guarantee and you will be out all 17 days and you’ll be right up against the 80 hours of flying per month, so I have been told by some of them.

I definitely agree with this.

I also agree with this, this is a big reason reason why I prefer the sperry FD.

Anyone heard anything in this last window yet? I applied Monday and nothing yet. Saw a previous post where a guy had a TBNT email after 2 days so am hoping no news is good news? 😬

Would you be willing to post your times without an internal rec? Wondering what might be competitive right now! Have about 3000TT and 1100 121 right now.

This lifehack may no longer apply with travel returning, but I was at Omni at the beginning of Covid, and had two chances to take the payout, then use status to re-upgrade to Bidness for free. Definitely a little bit of a gamble, but it worked for me on both occasions. Sleeping in a nice lie-flat after a delicious meal is nice. Sleeping a nice lie-flat after a delicious meal $1500 up is even nicer!

Sure. Not that recruiting can be an exact science but basically, I’m about 1000 hrs ahead of you. 4000tt, 2300 121, 750 121pic, military and aviation degree and experience flying in Europe also. Hope it helps and don’t give up!

I haven’t been hired yet. Interview on December 6th. Talk of a possible class in January but not sure what airframe… Anyone know what classes are running in Jan?
