Omni Air

Not instability, managerial idiocy! Omni’s business always ebbs and flows, it’s the nature of an ACMI. The decision to send those individuals home lacked foresight and proves incompetence….to put it tactfully.
I cannot think of one reason that sending individuals home 2 hours before a type ride does ANYTHING to benefit recruitment…especially in today’s hiring environment.

ACMI pilots produce very high revenue per pilot. They can afford to pay us more eventually.
Kinda like regionals 2 years ago were saying their "business model" can't pay any more, and then boom overnight 300% increase when it became an existential issue for the airlines.
ACMI has a lot of pricing power in the market too, especially when some of the bottom feeders either get new contracts or die off.

Absolutely! Two good points. Firstly, they have a sh*tload of wiggle room on the bottom line to work with. They're just so used to the BIG FAT profit margins that come with these golden goose contracts so it's hard to convince them the times are changing. I've personally seen and listened to management giggle at how ridiculously profitable some of these contracts are. And on the backs of hard working employees.
Second, cost always get passed on to the customer and the world keeps turning. Our main customer is happy to pay whatever it takes to get the job done. It's hard to believe, but our top heavy, bureaucratic government is more dynamic and quicker to accept change than the Omni Air management.
Which is a red flag of a business that is destined to fail. When the whole world is changing around these guys and they are stuck in a 1998 business model you know there's an issue. If not already exposed it's on the horizon and coming this way quickly.
