^^^Good Stuff right there, keeping it lite…^^^ Paid Vaca canceled, Hiring again, additional metal is coming on board, shrimp cocktails and mints for all afterwards. If anything, let it be big positive news for the group. Had to bring the Big 3 Final Fantasy down to the tangible level but I did nearly fall off my couch, well done.

Hope if it is hiring, that they will still call those of us who were in the pool and not drain it to start from scratch.

Is this the announcement?

https://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...0623005141/en/

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Omni Air International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATSG), today unveiled “Omni Class,” a new premium travel class billed as “180 degrees of 360 luxury,” a reference to its lie-flat seating options and top-tier amenities.

“Omni Class is the most significant advancement in passenger comfort in our 28-year history,” said Jeff Crippen, president and chief executive officer of Omni. “Continually reinvesting in our fleet through exceptional passenger experience upgrades like this is why Omni remains an industry leader.”

The Omni Class cabin configuration on the Boeing 767 offers a preferred two-one-two-across layout, providing every passenger with a greater degree of privacy and service than the airline’s other travel classes.

“We take pride in delivering the highest quality service to our customers,” said Robert Jared, vice president of business planning and strategy. “With Omni Class, we have not only enhanced the appointment of our cabins with the latest entertainment options, LED mood lighting, and powered seating that transforms into a 180-degree full-flat bed at the touch of a button, but also our exceptional crews have elevated the travel experience through an unmatched level of friendly and professional onboard service.”

Omni Class employs multiple stand-alone throne seats, including the B/E Aerospace Diamond seat for the Boeing 767 and the Thompson Vantage seat for the Boeing 777, which can be dressed in fine linens, duvet, and large pillow for more comfortable sleeping. They feature in-seat power, ample personal storage space, and an oversized tray table to accommodate a multi-course gourmet meal. Safran/Zodiac RAVE ZII entertainment systems equipped with 15.6-inch HD screens give passengers access to the latest theatrical releases, games and music.

“Omni Class represents the airline’s continued investment in unique technology and custom solutions,” said Paul Bobson, director of business development and marketing. “Omni Air International continues to evaluate technology and partnerships to further expand our diverse, industry-leading portfolio of turnkey solutions.”

Omni Class is available on select aircraft starting June 23, 2021. Visit www.oai.aero/omniclass for more details.

In any case, It's very clear he has an ax to grind.

As for his "others are growing fast" mantra..... that's the tortoise and the hare.

Omni isn't going to run a flight, waste a cycle on the hull, to make $10 bucks. They leave the low hanging fruit to the 36th street operators. Omni has a very successful business model, and unlike all the ones he mentioned, Omni has not gone bankrupt, nor ceased flying to rebrand, nor been run into the ground by poor management.

We went from 10 767's to 13 767's in about a year and a half. That's 30% growth on that fleet. One plane was an oddball and required extra training, OE, recurrent, and was a scheduling headache. They got rid of it. That still leaves us at 20% growth on that fleet over 3 years compared to where we were in 2018.

Cargo did well during covid because the world ran on home deliveries during the pandemic. While every other PAX airline parked planes, we continued to operate our entire fleet.... albeit at reduced schedules, but nothing parked.

I think the management here has done very well keeping the company operating under very difficult conditions without furloughing anybody.

I expect we will be hiring much sooner than people think. They let far fewer people take paid leave than anybody expected, and very few got all three months. The handwriting is on the wall that they think the flying is coming back in a more V shaped recovery than the doom and gloomers predicted.
10 to 13 aircraft’s is 23% growth. 10 to 12 767’s is 17% growth, rounded up.

Sorry, that was just really bothering me.

Well, 25% of 10 is only 2.5 aircraft... so 23% is even less. Yes, I did round off. But I’ll stick with my number as being more accurate.

sorry, that was just really bothering me.

I don't know much about O, except to say the last few trips to Alliance (AFW) has about half of their fleet parked there. Since they are owned by the same crappy parent company I'm interested in their success and keep up with whatever the corporate guys put out. R. Corrado recently discussed their drop in biz over the past year but has high hopes of a return in flying/block hours for their biz during the remainder of this year.

Two 777 Captain upgrades awarded.
The second round of paid time off went out to bid, then was cancelled.

my prediction was for hiring in the fall, we’ll see how it goes. It may be sooner, rumor is 20+ FO’s are past interviews and waiting class dates at legacies.

Umm…no. Maybe you shouldn’t be correcting math in a public forum.
