Atlas Gear Problem in SYD
Any truth to this - from another board.
13 May, 2011 07:00 PM A stricken freight plane that had been circling above Wollongong has made an emergency landing at Sydney Airport. Airservices Australia confirmed the international Atlas Air flight experienced a problem with its landing indicator after taking off from the airport earlier today. The landing gear failed to retract. The plane, operated by Qantas, flew very low over Wollongong for an hour as it burned fuel. It landed safely at Sydney Airport around 7pm.Fire services had been deployed to the runway. It may have been a sheared tilt actuator attach bolt ?.. 8 |
Yep, all true. And the aircraft took off 3 hours later with the same crew from SYD to BKK, and is landing in BKK in a few hours.
