Lol.
So you’ve been commuting for what? Four months?
Long career ahead of you. Good luck.
Why is this necessary?

Maybe a jealous commuter who thinks all should suffer like him/her? Haven't had to commute in 20+ years in this industry. Find a job where you live, or want to live, and enjoy the drive.

Yes around 5 months now but my commute isn’t exactly the easiest. I’ve had to , on three occasions buy confirmed tickets just to get to work. Spent a boat load on hotels too when I get bumped.

I’m sorry if I offended you , but just trying to find a better working situation for myself , and not having to commute would improve my QOL drastically.

Thanks guys for your help I”l put something in and just keep updating every month. Cheers

.

Never met anyone who likes commuting. It’s certainly not what it used to be when I started in the almost 40 years ago when PAN AM, TWA, & UAL etc. That said ChrisPilot, you may consider moving to an area near your current base. With the money you’re laying out for hotels and airline tickets, you should be able to find reasonable digs and reduce your level of angst.

On the website it says 2000 hours with 500 multi pic. I have 0 multi pic, and around 1800 hours now with only about 500 of those being turbine.
Do you have a multi-engine rating? What type of aircraft are you a crewmember? If os, then you may consider staying where you are... get your command... build up multi TPIC time.

At what point is it worth throwing in an application. I have 0 baddies, 4 year degree, so its just the hours that are keeping me from applying. Someone here said most have around 2700 hours. Am i jumping the gun here?
There are ACMI carriers out there that will hire you with an ATP. However the Multi PIC time is essential.

Good luck.

I know of one individual who was offered an interview with less than 2000 Hours and he was told they couldn't put him in class until he hit the 2000 Hour mark.

Do most pilots there live at base? This is more of a non-commuter airline isn’t it? Has anyone came onboard from a higher-paying regional and found SCX a better home for them? Is pay ever going to get better? Asking for a friend.

If you commute, don’t come here. Stay at your regional. Not worth it.
