Sorry I can't really contribute to your comment. But for what it's worth big announcement 3 years ago at Frontier is that we are turning into ulcc, which everyone knew was going to happen.
Point is, "big announcement(s) " often are not what they are hyped up to be.

What is the rumor regarding the merger?

Aloha all, about how much time is realistically competitive for Sun Country hiring? Super interested in coming in. Any information would be great.

3000 with some PIC time is what I have consistently heard. I'm around 2400 and haven't received a call yet. 135 and 121 background.

This is accurate. Sun Country is still hiring this year for attrition I believe. No exciting updates from latest "town hall" meeting.

Default SY Interview Questions

Hey Guys!

Thanks to all of you that have taken the time to post information on SY for those of us w/questions. Seems like a really great place for locals that don't commute. Just a few questions:

1. Does anyone have any up to date interview gouge? It seems the new format involves the Hogan assessment, a technical test and the HR interview. How long from applying to interview to class on average? As to the past guys/gals that washed out, anyone know what happened? SY training seems to be great and they have the "we want you to succeed" attitude.

2. Anyone with recent interviews that can speak to average experience/flt time of people being hired? Has anyone gotten the job with 0 TPIC? It looks like it's rather competitive right now from previous threads with times at a minimum of 5000hrs and over 1000 TPIC for an average applicant.

3. Vacation. I believe it's in hours and not days/weeks? I think I saw someone say you get the equivalent of 2 weeks vac up to year 10? Does it then go to 3 weeks? What does it max out at?

4. I'm looking at transitioning from BizAv (Netjets) to commercial and looking for anyone thats done a similar transition and their comparisons between the two. Ex. 7on/7off vs the bidding system at SY.

Feel free to PM me as this is a laundry list of questions or post publicly.

Thanks!

What is the training bond? Sounds like a pay for your own training.

$20,000 pro rated over 18 months if you leave early. It's a joke! I think Sun Country is the only airline requiring it. Management has said for months they were going to get rid of it.... It should tell you what kind of place it is if they still have this BS. I think they are really having a hard time finding quality candidates with all the airlines hiring.
