Just you watch. Sun Country will be for sale very soon. If I was a pilot there, I would stick around to see what entity buys you.

Does anyone else find it odd that we have a new CEO but have received no communication from him? Word on the street is he started early July.

Did you hear this from your CFO? Why would he know it's on the market?

Even if it does sell, most guys are leaving for Delta, FedEx, and Southwest. I have a hard time seeing any scenario better than those options.

The only thing would be the small chance of a higher seniority spot at the new company with a SLI.

In a hypothetical where SWA (or Delta) buys SCA , I don't see ~9000 SWAPA pilots letting 300 SCA pilots integrate...especially how AirTran went down. I see a staple at the bottom.

But I have a hard time seeing either happen.

I don't really see either happening either, but if Sun Country buys Delta they'll have to follow ALPA merger rules. Same if Delta buys Sun Country, which seems even less likely. But it's a crazy industry and stranger things have happened.

I think it's more likely (though still unlikely) that Southwest would buy them. SWA needs airplanes more than they need pilots but they would figure out a way to integrate them and it would be a giant windfall for SY pilots, who would increase their income and superior job security.

Nevertheless, I don't think either scenario is likely, but the second one at least seems plausible.

Hmmmm... G4 Big shot shows up at SY right before they go for sale??? Seem's like the writing is on the wall to me. And you think WN is gunning for the purchase? Nope. Get ready for Airbus training folks. But please stay in MSP... :-)

Not sure how the CFO got that info? I don't think many guys thought Southwest would purchase Sun Country. If they wanted to grow in MSP they could do that and force SY out. Most though Alaska was a potential buyer. Time will tell.... I'm sure most would stay in Minny as that's 95% of the reason guys stay here... it ain't the paycheck and profit sharing... lol

Apparently M is looking for an investor and JB needs cash to grow to 50 more airplanes in 6 years. West coast base and HI flying has been talked about.....take it FWIW, just a rumor from check airman in a meeting. Side note Jude thinks the branding of "the lakes" and the dumb as hell WCCO announcement does SY no justice for an airline in a position for growth outside MN...go figure
