Are the pay scales on APC correct? I have interview scheduled, but it looks like I would take 3 years or a upgrade to break 100k. Sad because it would be nice to drive to work, but not on less then first year regional FOs are getting.

Yes those numbers are mostly accurate. We are the bottom feeder 737 operator. It's getting to be cliche, but we have a really great group of pilots working for an old school regional management team. It's really sad to see this place go down hill.

I'm a third year FO and I make $76.19 an hour. I will upgrade soon and will make $113.72 as a 737 captain. Junior captains mostly do charters and can sometimes be stuck with an ETOPS trip. When we do charters it is mostly the pilots that make it work, very little help from the company.

I don't mean to sound negative, I just want people to understand what they are getting into. First year pay is $48 an hour. Second year pay after November 2019 is $76.19. Third year FO pay after November 2020 is $87.22.

We will get 100% deadhead rates starting this November (junior pilots deadhead a lot), also 6% raise in 2019 and 8% in 2020. Those pay raises are already included in the numbers I gave above.

Best group of pilots I have ever flown with, toxic management culture. Also I can count the number of overnights I've done this year on one hand.

I hope that helps. As of lately I have been motivated to leave ASAP.

I backed out of the interview. Those rates are unacceptable for a 73. Actually first year pay is less then many regionals. Hopefully the payrates increase in the future.

I also backed out of an interview due to the pay.

Thanks for the detailed info. I haven’t decided yet, but those payrates would be the reason for a no from me. I commute on you guys often, and the crews seem great.

They contacted me within a couple weeks. If you meet the mins, and don’t have any skeletons, you will get the call. Glad you’re excited to fly a NB for sub RJ wages. Good luck!

Don’t forget about the $20,000 training contract - prorated over 18 months.

Also, the general lack of concern by management for the companies reputation or their customers. There’s a chop up, merger, or bankruptcy in their future.

Regional FOs don’t have much to loss, especially if they don’t have to commute to work. Even captains at Mesa would have a huge quality of life increase. Healthcare seems okay. They’re pretty upfront about the training contract, but that is also a negative for me.

Who knows what will happen in the next few years, but I suspect Suncountry will survive. I think they were down to one plane during the recession, and they’re still around. As long as the payrates stay below industry average, they will make money.
