I used to tow banners for a company in S.Fl. One of the Managers there flew at Miami Air for 20 years. He told me once that the security clearance and hiring practices are very strict over there.. Other then that it seems like it would be an interesting place to work if you lived in FL...

I was with them some 14 years ago for a couple of years. There security clearance process was no different than any other carrier involved with DOD operations.

review further in the "Charter" thread for comments about Miami Air.

There is flying now (a small percentage of the total flying) where the security clearence is MUCH more stringent than other 121 outfits, not all the pilots here qualify for that flying though.

It's tempting. I'm flying an rj for $2 less then 1st year pay there...

Not always about pay my friend... I'd much rather live at home and get $2 more an hour over an RJ job that would require me to commute to work.

Yeah... I guess things have changed since I left MIA. I remember the food on the jet was good, hotels decent, and pay on time.

I'm sure the rosters are still dynamic as they change on a day to day basis. I remember when the current D/O, then the C/P was a typical rat who would throw anyone under the bus to save his and his friends butts when appropriate.

He went to bat for his friends who dragged the aft stairs in ATL, nicked a wingtip in St. Pete., and took off over wieight for landing weight next station from Panama. Of course those chappies knew the secret handshake. Then there were those who had minor infractions who who he was happy to serve up their heads to the FAA on a silver platter.

Oh well, you know what they say about what goes around comes around. What is that??? Karma:D.

Miami Air

Hey Guys, I have read a few recent posts about Miami Air but didn't find anything on the Interview. Does anyone have any info on it ? I was just curious about any technical questions they may ask, and also if they get into the part 121 reg's.

Thanks !:)
