Direct Air files for bankruptcy

There was a 400 that got repo'd. The company tried to spin it as a misunderstanding...but I don't know what the facts were. One of the planes is gone, though. I don't think it had anything to do with Direct Air, though. This happened well before DA shut the doors.

Yep, I saw it a week or two before the Direct Air thing. Do you guys have enough flying to keep all the pilots now?

Yes...they just signed a one year contract for some ICE flying in KAEX doing deportation flights to Honduras. The base bid closes tomorrow and the junior assignments will happen Wednesday. Hiring continues at 8 per month. They claim they need another 40 pilots...we are at 65 right now.

Alex kinda sucks for commuting, and it's the middle of nowhere, but we had a great time there.
Momma used to say, "A base is what the crews make of it"
She also said, "Commuting is like a box of chocolates, ....."
