Anybody knows what a competitive profile would currently be in this round of hiring?

In the past year or so, pilots have been hired with hours at or near the minimums.

The most determining factor seems to be knowledge of the company and its operations and your desire to work here.

Knowledge = internal recs or serious knowledge w/ the company?

You are going to have to do the homework even IF you have a recommendation...all that friend can do for you is vouch for you, the rest is up to you.

Above might be obvious, but I stand by it.

Knowledge with the company is acquirable... Recs not as much. What I meant asking was whether or not internal recs are a requisite without which you don't get called ?...

I was reading about some bar or restaurant that you guys hang out in down in MIA. I put my stuff in two weeks ago and would love to come work at Atlas. If anyone is down there and has free time, maybe I could stop by there and pick your brain about Atlas. I will be down there next week. PM me if anyone can help out. Thanks

Recs certainly can help, but many of us were hired without a single rec, myself included.

+1. Apply even if you don't have the rec. I will say that it appears to help if you are type rated in a jet powered VW Bug!

I do and I did. However my jet is a CRJ-200 (plenty of us drivers) and my turbine pic time is relatively low (under 1k)... That's why I'm here asking to get an idea of what a competitive candidate is.

:D

schone,

I had 300 CRJ PIC (downgraded CA), no internal recs. I know several RJ FOs with no PIC who've been hired. That said, 1/2 of my interview group and new hire class were RJ captains.
