Kalitta

Heard rumors that Kalitta Charter lost the Dover contract and had a massive lay-off of 20-some pilots.

True? False?

Any idea who may have picked up that contract?

HercDriver130 06-09-2013 07:47 AM

And this is in "mergers and Acquisitions"....why?

JetToy 06-09-2013 09:39 AM

Because I could not find the cargo area on the forums. Did not know where else to put it.

Sorry. Dont be a hater. Be a helper.

Perhaps it would have been better posted under the Charter section... have not heard of layoffs on the other side of the empire...but then again... we at K4 dont hear much of what goes on over at Charters and Charters II

They justed started flying the oak-hnl contact in the lear. But i would beloeve it since the amount of docer flying has decreased dramatically.

Hmmm..could that mean more openings rather than less since picking up the new contract?

What is a tpe engine? Did you mean to say tfe, as in TFE731 engines? Also, they are not laying off, they are hiring the last I had heard.

Hiring at Charters or Charters II? FOs, by chance?

Charters, no clue on charters II. I don't work there anymore, so this is just info I've heard from friends that are still there. It was also a couple of months ago that I heard about them hiring.

Not trying to hijack the thread but could someone tell me if ALL the 747's do not have the cockpit door lock system? My airline is not CASS approved yet so this has been an issue with letting company employees cabin jumpseat.

None of the Kalitta Air 747 aircraft have cockpit doors, curtains only. I can't speak as to the Charters or Charters II aircraft.

I guess its time for my monthly wazzup at Kalitta post. :)

If you're asking about Doug's side - the med & Dover - they recently let a FO go, so still may have an opening for that replacement.

Since you have Lear & King Air below your name, thought you may be interested. Information is information. Sorry.
