Elite Airways

The flying is divided into Two parts for the year. Summer-Fall is typically the slower season. It consists of Seasonal scheduled routes as well as year round scheduled service. Occasional charters will be flown as well. The airline has contracts with Caesar's for Casino flying also. Historically, if staffed properly, schedules during this time are great at 7/7 or better. Last year this time, some guys were getting up to two weeks off at a time. The other half of the year is the busy season. End of Fall to late Spring is when the NCAA charter season starts. Again, not to sound like a broken record but your QOL during this time depends on staffing. This past season was very tough due to lack of pilots. Tough being 7/3. However, as an example, the year prior had adequate staffing and resulted in a 7/7 throughout the whole season. I am hopeful that with the current large class and with another class staffing could be where we need it to be to attain a decent QOL.
Training is about a month in Melbourne FL. Theres another post regarding that from a current student currently in ground.
For New FO's upgrade is once you hit 1K 121. Thats about a year and a half, essentially minimum time. We have hired Direct entry Captains however they do not upgrade to Captain until they are needed in the seat. This seems to be running at 6 months? Couldn't really tell you.
If you have any specific questions post them here as I won't check PM. Overall I really do enjoy my time here with great crews and pretty decent trips. If you need specifics just ask.

Part time?
Does Elite have a part time option for CL-65 typed pilots? Not looking for any benefits, just some flying here and there. Thanks.

Is this your first 121 job because if you’ve worked for a decent place before I don’t think you’d have the same opinion? Many of us that have worked prior 135 or 121 got out of that place as soon as we could. Management is terrible and pushing guys to violate duty and rest times, disregard maintenance issues, and to break numerous FARs. They will punish you if you stand up to them as well. Crew scheduling is horrific and incompetent (I was told it’s 9on and 5 off now) and the training is severely inadequate. They kept telling new hires 7on and 7off despite never having a schedule like that. Ask the company why have so many guys left to take lesser paying jobs at regionals, corporate, and cargo! There is nothing good at this company except maybe the crewmembers and the free medical benefits for the employee only. Those of us with a family had to pay $1k a month! Quality of life was nonexistent when I was there because you never knew when they’d call you out. Let everyone know how you feel after you’ve been on the line for a few months and in to NCAA charter season. I hope you don’t have a wife or kids because you might as well get an attorney to prepare for a divorce because you’ll never see them. The best feeling was seeing that place in the rear view mirror.
I bet you cannot name one new hire that was told the schedule was 7 on, 7 off. Why, because it just is not true. It is a goal that is being addressed with an increase in hiring. Management is VERY clear on this.
Not every person is going to be a good fit at every company. It is a relationship. What works for some doesn’t work for others. That said, if you were unhappy, fine move along like a grownup. But don’t post lies and hyperbole as an anonymous keyboard warrior. I have wasted enough time engaging you and will not do so further. Fly Safe!

Tell your friend to re apply. He seems more than qualified. There is in fact an October class but unsure of the start date. It's a pretty good choice in my opinion if your looking for : 1. Home Basing 2. $60K FO to start, straight salary. When it comes to 121 charter airlines, I don't think your going to find that at any of them, aside from Omni. Even the 737 operators out there like Sun Country, Miami Air, Swift etc. pay less to start. Only Sun Country beats the pay scale later down the road by far, in the Captain category. The others are sketchy at best anyway. Good Luck.

Elite Airways training footprint etc.
Hello,
was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what the training foot print is like over at Elite? Also how is training, Instructors, materials etc? For the October class is there a break for Thanksgiving or straight through?
Thanks
