Rumor has it one of the ACMI carriers is about to buy National.

sky jet 08-24-2015 04:21 PM

Do they have ETOPS?

Yes. And 757 manuals.

HeavyDriver 08-24-2015 04:54 PM

I don't see it happening...it doesn't make sense...Well, then it might happen if it doesn't make sense...lol

Natca 08-24-2015 05:08 PM

Someone wants the contracts and someone wants to get out of the airline business. Thats pretty obvious.

Looks like Omni might be buying National.

This is currently a very popular rumor at Omni. No idea where it originated from, or if there is any truth to it. Omni's website also advertises openings for mx control positions for "our fleet of 747, 767, and 777."

HeavyDriver 08-29-2015 07:51 AM

I still don't understand why Omni...a very viable company would buy "Whole" a company with future legal and economic performance liabilities..it doesn't make sense...Omni's MO is to buy profitable pieces of troubled companies...If it does happen...With that management decision making...I give Omni 7 years of being in business...

Packrat 08-29-2015 09:27 AM

Probably not taking the "whole" company. If their NAA acquisition is any guide, they'll take the 747s and the crews. It'll just be an asset purchase. Then the rest of National will just fold.

That's for Western Global.

National Purchase

National's president has put out info completely denying any purchase talks......take it for what its worth.

According to what our president put out, this is completely off base.

Packrat 09-08-2015 10:19 AM

Time will tell.

OnMyWay 09-25-2015 01:50 PM

Unless this is a repost of an old job posting, it looks like they are hiring again.

Packrat 09-25-2015 07:16 PM

Still have those 747 freighters. Heard they're in the paint shop getting new colors.

Where does it say that? Are they not home-based?

APC profile of the company says that 757 crews are no longer home based.

crjdxr 09-26-2015 02:54 AM

NCR was home based for the 757s. They are now moving to a KSFB base for the B757 fleet.

The 747 crews are still home based.

JeffA 09-26-2015 04:38 PM

It doesn't say that but that's the deal. SFB is co-based with MCO.

JeffA 10-01-2015 05:44 PM

Scheduled service from SFB to a few Canadian cities, Vegas and PR announced today. This is the reason why crews are now to be based at Sanford.

Any Updates?

National's website is still up, are there any updates?
Are they hiring FO's?
Number of days on duty and guarentied days off?
Pay rates?
Company feel, mood?

Thanks

Triggs 09-18-2019 12:53 PM

Any truth to the rumor that National just sold off their A330's?

They never had 330's on property... Were in talks to take one on and hired a couple 330 typed people but latest word is that has "Fallen Thru"... Fleet still 2 744 freighters and a single 757 Pax... That from a mate on property as of yesterday...

4runner 09-24-2019 08:40 AM

I’ve said this before and I say it again, AMC and the DOD don’t want Airbus in their civilian fleets. That’s from folks that speak directly to them.

KA350Driver 12-17-2019 01:49 PM

What’s up with these guys? Are they worth a look?

Varsity 01-13-2020 08:42 AM

According to bank documents, National took delivery of a Thomas Cook A330-243 on 23DEC19.

Serial number 1019, Registered N819CA. Ex G-TCXD. Built May 2009.

Cujo665 04-01-2020 03:51 PM

Somebody forget to pay the website fees?

i would recommend steer clear, very bad Mgt that has zero employee concern.....I was in first non Murray hire class in 2011, all gone, of course.........if you go in with that in mind, and can accept it, go for it..........lost 7 buddies in OAIX crash in April 2013, then another close call 3 months later, zero concern for anything but cash flow by uppers.......you essentially are due regard all the time...........

Hi

I'm new to this forum, so I'm just testing out by replying.

FlyyGuyy 08-20-2020 07:39 AM

Is National Hiring? If so, does anybody know how to apply? The company website doesn't appear to have a link for careers etc.

FlyPurdue 08-20-2020 07:51 AM

National had an advertisement on LinkedIn back on 11AUG that they were hiring for a number of positions including 747FO. When you clicked to apply, the link sent you to 'JSFirm' for the actual application. It seems the hiring window is now closed.

In the past 2 weeks, they have brought 2 ex-Cathay 747s out of the desert - brining their active fleet to 4 747s, 1 757 and 1 A330.
