Default New Eastern

I saw what looked like a class going through at Pan Am in Miami. Any word on them?

I know a Miami Air CA left to go be a check airman there about 2 months ago, and that they were supposed to be starting classes "soon." Funny, too, that Miami Air's offices are in that same building where Eastern is doing their training, especially since Mami Air was founded by a bunch of ex-Eastern guys.

I went to their website to day and saw a name of a guy in their management team that sent shock waves through my body. AB, is a guy with a most infamous past. Fired from nearly everywhere! They even list his career on the site. This guys is a terror, and I feel even worse now as the whole management team are quite simply the worst of the worst. Skeletons of epic proportions in their closets. The recent Peoples Express experiment comes to mind, as well as Braniff 3 and Northeastern, if anyone remembers them.

Why is it always the flunkies that have to ruin a name and try and finish their careers by starting another airline when the business has clearly wanted them out. STOP!

This has disaster written all over it. As Did Ozark Part 2 as well. I yi yi. This is just madness I tell ya. They are all cuddled up in an office in the original EAL bldg on 36th street as well.

WOW!!! JN is their CP. Thought he would be a lifer at MIA.

Anyway... what kinda better mouse trap does the mgt og New EAL think they are building to think they can compete with MIA?

Yeah... They go after the lowly contracts that Falcon has lost.

Go scheduled?!? In AA's back yard?!? That will last about a New York second.

Don't know the mgt... but evidently the DOT don't feel they're a threat... Time will tell. Perhaps we'll see posts from the crew extolling the virtues or the evils of the new EAL.

I worked with AB at NAA, I had no issues with him.

I like how everyone from every airline not the big three is the "worst of the worst."

They obviously did something right as they got their 121 certificate in pretty good time. That only comes from having your **** together going into the certification process. Good luck to the new airline.

AB, has literally been fired from about every airline ever! He has a terrible rep! Ask the ATI guys how they feel about him. The CEO has quite a track record as well. He, not the VP of OPS or CP, picked out the uniforms. He has no idea what he is doing. I saw them, they are silly.

The airline applied sometime ago for their certificate. The new EAL was supposed to be flying over a year ago.

Between AA then, Swift, Xtra, Sun King, World Atlantic and Falcon, how will EAL possibly survive? MRJ's, huh? That is the silliest thing I have ever read.

The business plan makes no sense. The management is at best, is historically inept. And every bunch of idiots that has ever tried to resurrect a failed old carrier, has failed. Midway, Braniff, Peoples, Ozark, to name but a few.

They will run out of money first. It will start with paychecks bouncing. I give the new EAL six months to one year.

Having your **** together is irrelevant. The airlines I mentioned must have all had their **** together, right! Must have to get a certificate.

They are trying the same old tirckery. Start a new airline with an old name to let everyone see the old colors and then WHAM, it's over and the name is just dragged through the mud. Look at what that jackwagon has done with PanAm. Just disgusting. This EAL thing is just sad as It will end in tears UH-Gain!

Well put all that. Had totally forgotten about Midway, and I was at Midway.
