Any information on Air Med Services/Acadian A
Does anyone know anything about Air Med Services or Acadian Ambulance. I believe Air Med is just a branch of the main Acadian company. I have heard they are requiring a three year contract for initial training is this at all normal it seems over the top.

Any information on Air Med Services/Acadian A
I worked there and just left only because I got an offer I couldn't turn down. Most contracts were 2 years but I think they are trying to move to 3 to deter movement, I'd try and force their hand for 2 years bc they are pretty short on pilots.
Pros:
Excellent DO
Awesome MX staff
Above average pay for the King air
Some growth (added 2 bravos within the last year)
Excellent support staff (the main scheduler tries to help out the pilots as much as he can)
Cons:
8 and 4 schedule isn't great
Overtime rate is only 300/day
Terrible pay for the Lear guys
They are short staffed and you will probably work more then normal
Overall I'd say if you want to live in the Lafayette area and fly King airs this is the job for you. PM me if you've got any more questions

They are hiring because they lost me and one other guy within the past 2 weeks and they added another citation so they are upgrading 2 guys off the king air.
I believe the posted minimums are 2000 and an ATP (written may be acceptable). starting pay is around 60 k. Good benefits, healthcare is decent, retirement is the main draw with the ESOP program they have.
They are very stable, Acadian itself has expanded into Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston and should be raking in some money. The air med side does quite well (especially when the helicopter pilots decide to actually fly once in a while)

Sddo,
A quick look at your post history makes it pretty obvious who you are and who you work for. Stating you schedule, airplane you fly, where you live, etc. show me you are already familiar with Acadian and their companies. Perhaps even work there? In the interest of keeping these forums honest and truthful, would it be appropriate to let everyone know who you fly the Lear 45 for?
If you want the truth on Acadian call one of their pilots or prior pilots as clearly the upper management is doing social media/forum monitoring and these forums. Personally, I wouldn't want to work for a company that operates like this. Seems a little shady.

Personally we wouldn't want anyone working for us that is so ignorant that they believe social media/forum monitoring is not a normal and valid tool used by all successful companies to weed out unacceptable candidates.
