Default Fair points

Triggs. Not trying to denigrate it but giving info about experiences. Some, like yourself and mexi, have good but some have bad. It's a historical perspective.

If their is career advancement, that's good but if not, you may be spinning your wheels is all.

I don't agree in the assessment but your point is taken. It is what you make of it. History has a way of repeating itself. Is it safe, sustainable AND stable? No, it is not.

You yourself, Triggs, say you deserve better, and you do. Only you can make that happen. Better opportunities are there.

Default Upgrades

New hire FOs are being upgraded to Captain while senior FOs are waiting. The new hire FOs are being told to "not say anything". This is in addition to Captains being hired off the street. This would upset me if I was a 2-4 year FO waiting to upgrade and the airline is being sneaky about it.

Apparently, flight attendants are being told to help recruit pilots. A F/A class was recently visited by management and told "we are looking for pilots so if you know anyone"!

Dude where the hell are you getting your information? They're done hiring street captains the last one was in the September class, they only hired 16.

2 FOs in upg training right now, one has been here over 3 years the other a little over a year. More are coming but we need the FOs to fill the ranks. The last couple of street captains are finishing OE as we speak. 2 eastern pilots are done and on the line as captains in MIA.

September only had 2 in class so where this special upgrade you speak of if garbage. One was the last captain.

We have a lot of new FAs hires recently and CP met with them as well and said if you know former co-workers interested in coming to swift to pass the word. Aviation is word of mouth! And thanks to a new FA who made a Facebook post on an aviation page we have received a stack of resumes from social media. So we're very thankful on her efforts.

People if you want information on swift please get it from a genuine source. Braniff is not employee here as he never even flew or made it to the line. I will be glad to give you information and set you up for an interview if interested.
PM me and I'll send you my email so you can send your resume and questions.

Probably pretty junior. We really don't have anyone who lives in STL other than FAs. So it will be interesting as to how that gets built up for Apple Vacations. Right now it's just an FA base.

Still no new information on the 767 program. It's being put into manuals for FAA approval. Not sure if it will be considered gateway basing yet. More to follow as it develops.

Default Well

I must just be making it up because I have no better reason. People need to be aware of what goes on there (as well as other places)and again, there are better opportunities. You trying to sell it does not mean it's a good place.

People, I know enough. Stay away from this place!!! It will get you nowhere. Ask Mexi how many are getting hired at the Majors! Not Spirit or Frontier but United, Delta etc...You will be treated like a dog and God forbid-Violated. Do your homework. The information is out there. I posted some earlier. You can research it yourself. You do not have to take my word for it whatsoever. Caracas is dangerous and you will go there a lot. YOU DON'T HAVE TO!

Social media to get apps? That same social media will be used to spread the word. Works both ways Mexi.

Man, it seriously sounds personal, and not so much "friendly pilot advice" to me. You are just determined to make every effort to steer people away from this place. I think you would find a lot more joy on focusing on your choices and doing research on whatever affects YOU and let people make their own choices and their own research. Your story is really getting old. Sad. It's people that make a place good or bad. So if enough good people get together, it will only help a place be better.

Man I love my all inclusive Caracas overnights! Cerveza at the pool and a massage sponsored by the awesome government! Why would anyone be afraid of Caracas it's like the new southern cancun!...... I've been to crazier places in the military than caracas. East St. Louis is more dangerous than CCS.

Again folks CCS is a turn flight we do twice a day out of MIA. Not a biggie, turn and burn. The ground handlers are great and do their best to get ya going. Definitely friendlier than MIA any day. The customer has it very well orchestrated as their reputation rests on it.

We have had people hired at many airlines from Swift. Southwest, Alaska airlines, many to Spirit, atlas air and the most recent lotto winner went to AA.

Not sure who ****ed in Braniff's Cheerios at Swift, but he probably should be focused on looking for his next gig. If he's like this away from Swift than this place is already times better without him. Don't need cancers slinging gear for us. We have a lot of hard working pilots trying to make this place great and we definitely don't need that negativity. If you don't like swift then don't come, if you're here and don't like it, quit! Nobody is holding you back but yourself.

Now if you want a variety of flying, learning to land a 737 on places You'd never imagine, working with fun crews making the best of every day, then we'd be glad to have you. Management doesn't make this company, we do!

Default Wow

Stockholm syndrome is real. The airline is, always has been and always will be, a bottom feeder. Trying to sell icebergs to eskimos you idiots.

So you want to make it personal, ok. You keep telling everyone it’s a great place but people keep quitting, why? Cause it sucks. Sad you say because somebody isn’t drinking the kool aid in Guyana. You’re a bunch of fools and are only there because no one else wants you!

Yes, keep slinging that gear like the dogs you are in some old clapped out 737.

I was trying to keep it clean but am used to being in the sewers with Rats.

BRING IT

I don't think anyone came here and said it was delta air lines by any means. It has worked for many of us as it has been able to provide an ideal quality of life that brought myself and others out of the regionals and/or night cargo. Many of us are here doing our best and working to the next best thing either getting PIC time, time in type etc.

We're not selling anything out of the norm, we've told y'all what it is around here. No smoke and mirrors. To everything there's a disclaimer and results will vary. Same thing at any regional. It's like telling someone "don't go to Mesa!" Even doing interviews we don't hide anything or make promises of filet mignon and 4lb lobster. This place either works for you as a place to hang your hat or it's just a place to reap the time and get the next best thing youre hunting for.

Attrition has been about 8 or so this year of line pilots gone to better places. Most of the recent resignations have been new hires not even making it on the line or getting something better before starting class. In the coming months we'll lose a handful to age 65.

It's not perfect, sucks being behind the power curve when you're this boeing acft in chicagos airspace and are not approved to do rnav and have to fly at 250 below 10 for 75 miles to squeeze you in sequence. It can be frustrating but I just sit there and get paid by the minute. Sometimes I wish the schedules were better when I've been on the road 14 days! Then sometimes I get a good balance of work and off days. Can training be frustrating here? Yes! There's a lot of self study and taking it upon yourself to study and be ready. I miss the old school house world where the resources and knowledge came from senior instructor pilots. Will that ever happen here? Who knows. If it does I'll probably be somewhere else by then.

Yeah these planes are old, but man these mechanics especially for us on VIP work their butt off to keep these things flying. It's like these guys live on this plane for days at a time as these things rarely sit, which is good, which means business is good, but doesn't always give the plane ample time to get the TLC it needs. If anything those guys deserve a raise, especially when they're out there cooking in the sun or freezing their gozongas in the Canadian winter. But you know what I will fly these old turds any day over the 800s we have. So I can definitely say many of us are glad we're not 800 qualified. I've flown old junky RJs in worse shape than these ole steamers, Boeing built these things tough!

Bottom feeders? That seems to be what mainline pilots call anyone whose not like them. I love that term from Navy or Air Force guys who have never flown in the regionals and just look down on everyone else. Charter, airline, 135, we all do the same thing. The gear comes up and it comes down! The difference is I'm not in and out of a hub all day long. Some hotels suck major donkey nuts and you're usually on your own making sure you're legal for legality, weather, flight releases etc. big airlines have expensive software to babysit everything we don't have.

Like I said you be the own judge of your decisions. If it doesn't work then walk away. I'm here for my reason so is everyone else. Least I know for the most part I work with a group of pilots in enjoy flying with and trust to be there when it hits the fan. Don't let people's bad experiences be your baseline! Make your own research and ask questions so you can make an educated decision.
