What are the odds that the company would agree to retro pay?
Why would they?
They make money every month we can’t get our act together. Pitiful.

It cost Omni Money to sell trips to other carriers due to staffing. The fact that we are selling trips because we can't staff.... Pitiful!

I think you'll see everyone except the majors doing that. I believe we're actually in a better staffing position than people would have others believe... it's definitely far from where we should be, but the hearsay of 20-30 pilots quitting per month was well out of place and unfounded (I'm talking a few months back, not recently).

Taking a step back from all this, even those who would sign up for what is on offer now (myself included), the best course of action appears to be to, at the absolute least, get the company to take the union seriously in getting back to the table and negotiate the few final items. Whether or not they totally cave to all the union demands or actually negotiate an agreeable middle ground remains to be seen. What it (getting back to the table) would do is remove any doubts of the union playing politics for the benefit of another group and reinforce the company's statement that it will follow up it's intentions with tangible actions.

Just an interesting observation that has been noticed. Endeavor Airlines just inked a new contract with a new shiny pay scale. It seems that we have officially taken a back seat in pay to a regional airline

Not negotiating; quibbling over minutiae.

So which is it.....the company refusing to continue negotiations or 1224 refusing to allow a new contract?

I thought you guys were blaming 1224?

In my opinion it's a combination of the both. There is a significant amount of us who feel that the gains we've made are worthy of consolidation sooner rather than later. I don't know if it's a majority or not. Perhaps the annoying (for lack of a better word) is the vacuum of information from the union, and when it does come it is highly scripted and doesn't reveal much. Of particular annoyance is being told to find another job instead of getting concrete information about the outlook.

Backpay....
I suggest y'all do your research on the history of back pay.

While "full back pay" isn't in the "never happened " category, it is not the norm. In fact, I've personally seen it be pennies on the dollar.

If financial gain is your priority (as asking for backpay would suggest) one is far better served by "contract now" vs. retro pay.

Plus, when you factor in improved 401k, travel pay and per diem, it's not even close.

How do you think your new contract will compare to Kalitta? They've got 16 days on a month with home basing among other things.
