“Subodh, this summer we had really bad issues with extensions, it was almost guaranteed that you would be extended after a trip. What’s being done about that?”
His response, roughly: “we are working on it, we need more pilots. But at the end of the day if being extended to do your job is too much, then leave. There’s nothing I can do. But you can leave.”
This was in MY new hire class presentation.
Commutair is a great little airline. We’re a family. I’m glad he’s gone.
Our leadership is changing for the better. Getting who we have now as a CP is the first step.

The company gave us at expressjet a chart showing the extension rate at other regionals and we had the highest non-extension rate amongst all of them. All we have to do is fill out a 5 question form , no questions asked , it’s paid, a non-event. The form shouldn’t even be required but whatever. This new CEO is gonna hate that.

Our people at XJT are too seasoned to let some guy start treating them like crap. With a median CA longevity over 17 years, he'll probably just end up getting told to pound sand. He can't fire everyone, and this isn't 2001 where there more were pilots on the street than cockroaches. People will just refuse like they do now. "Hey we're gonna need you to do this turn at the end of your trip" "no thanks, buh bye" Real conversations.

I am no longer at C5, but during my time there I saw Subodh address our new hire class and talked to him one on one at the new hire dinner/ open tab at a brew pub in Dulles. He is very open about not liking pilots. When he addressed the new hire class, he was somewhat professional, but still did manage to work in a few anti pilot digs. At the brew pub he told me to my face that he knows pilots are selfish and only care about themselves, that we are terrible at working as a team, and are not loyal. In one way, isn’t that better then the normal management bs of calling us a family to our face then undercutting us? Don’t get me wrong I don’t like the man and he should not be trusted. Good luck all
Sounds like he was selfish and only cares about himself, that he is terrible at working as a team, and is not loyal.
Good luck to any pilot who finds and opportunity and goes for it.

Your response to him face to face should have been.."Every american citizen HATES CEO's because they are selfish, greedy, and only care about themselves and just take huge bonuses and leave their employees with crumbs'.... Would have loved to see the look on his face after saying that! hahah

I responded with something along the lines of “The only motivation anyone has to put on pants at 3am, is their mortgage”. Then I attempted to get him to expalin how loyalty works in a furlough. He pretended he needed to talk to someone and walked away. He really reminded me of the company sleeze balls I dealt with on the 135 side of life. I hope you all find a way to box him out, but United installed him. Best of luck.
