It's a hard requirement to go to United via CPP. So the answer is no one.

There is a DPE for us that isn't at United because of the degree requirement.

Ok only reason I ask is because it says "or equivalent" whatever that means..
Apparently United dropped their degree requirement. but I guess the CPP still requires it

No.

BUT there have been people that were successful via the CPP and the only condition was that they needed their degree before being offered a class date. If having a CPP spot but no degree isnt the biggest kick in the ass to get it done, then I dont know what is.

When I checked it said “preffered”
Chief pilot of my job goes to those United meetings UFO or whatever (retired line check airman) and probably 6 months ago said they no longer require it

If they can’t spell “preferred”, they shouldn’t require anyone to have a degree.

All I have to say is try to get hired with out a degree. Talk to anyone at a carrier with the CPP. Ask them how many were hired without a degree. The answer is few to none.

If your friend meets with the UA chiefs then ask him for the hiring breakdown that UA publishes. You will get the answer right there.
