The program is being tweaked, but it is not going away or turning into a flow as others from other airlines are pushing on their forums. C5 is sending over the number of pilots that are in the agreement (10% of United Hiring).
UA typically slows down training during the summer months, so I expect that we will not be sending over as many during the next couple of months.
C5 has not held anyone back because of staffing. They are very well aware that would be a very bad publicity problem. C5 continues to move pilots onto UA through the CPP at our guaranteed percentage.

United is not sending out any hogans to any of the CPP carriers. They claim they cant do the interviews due to staffing, so they are holding off on the Hogans because of the time limit after passing the Hogan to get the interview done.

Completely holding folks back
C5 management IS holding people back. This is a scheduling issue versus a recruiting issue.
They are aware it is a delicate balance between public image/impression and reality. For recruiting/hiring purposes, they NEED people to BELIEVE the CPP is better at C5 than other UAX companies. For scheduling purposes, In REALITY they are completely holding folks back for going to mainline.
Totally get where you cheerleaders are coming from. You need to Street Captains applicants to keep coming in the door so you get to go when your time comes. But the truth is C5 IS holding onto qualified people who have completed the CPP requirements. There is a backlog of folks waiting and they’re only sending 1 per month.
It’s going to get worse as the captain squeeze continues. Of course C5 will blame the mother ship and say it’s what they want. CPP has never been about staffing mainline. It has always been about tricking folks into flying the regionals for pennies.
Eyes wide open guys and please STOP spreading pixie dust and unicorns everywhere. C5 is a scam artist. They’re pulling a 3 card monte here.

Buzz off Buzzd. CPP is a good thing. Take your anger mgmt issues elsewhere because you’re good enough, you’re smart enough, and gosh darn, everyone loves a buzz.

I doubt he can. If he does, it’ll be class by class, but I’m sure the ANNUAL numbers add up to the percentage that was agreed to. At XJT, there were some slow months when United didn’t take the full 25% each class. This has always been compensated for by other months when they would take more. At the end of the year, the agreement was honored. I would venture to say the same is true for C5. Not to mention......hiring has slowed down for the summer. When September comes, it’ll be full speed ahead.

Yes.
It was a nice q and a session. No new news about the program. A 787 captain is getting involved with the program on United’s end and wanted to hear from the pilots mostly about how they view the program.
He was a little surprised by the lack of communication there has been in general. Couple folks chimed in about how they have been with c5 since fall and have not heard a peep from United or seen a Hogan. He chalked it up to staffing in Denver.
He said changes are coming. Pilots that are not “in” the CPP; meaning passes hogan and interview, will be affected by these changes..better or for worse. He did not reveal too many details. Other than the program is not going away and it is important for United to rebrand to compete with the other legacy’s.
Only step he knew that would be added is some sort of cultural assessment (test?).
Other than that a couple c5 pilots talked about their own scenarios to help them better understand the process. The elephant in the room was C5 using the program to push pilots to do their bidding and they could crush your entire career if they so choose.
Best I can remember.
Cheers

Thanks for the info. Also heard from a reliable source they brought up the 90-day “waiting period” and the UAL rep seemed curious as to who imposed that. Based on the last email, if you qualify July 1, you’re essentially in the hook with C5 for another six months because of the imposed quarterly wait. This is not what was/is being pitched by recruiting or training. The big draw for a lot of folks is getting meeting the gates, getting the time and moving on. From other people that have been here a while it seems management never “metered” candidates before, so when they were through the final UAL screen, they punched out. What they’re doing now seems a far cry from what they said they were honoring.

Yeah - thanks for jogging my memory
Petra pipped in quickly saying the quarterly “metering” was all United.
Little bit of finger pointing going on momentarily.
