CPP update

The program is currently suspended and no Hogan tests are being given out. No answer as to when or if things will change.

Would you like to place some money on it being suspended? I would bet C5 has pilots going over to UA before Nov. Now the hogan being sent out might be delayed for a period of time.

Please Note the above CPPfacts is from XJT and is not all knowing and is disgruntled. That is all.

The problem is there's no rules (or the rules are so vague as to be able to change them on a whim). Airline pilots deal with rules, regulations, and guidance. The CPP isn't run that way and is administered by people who don't want it that way. That's why they've kept the unions out of it and put little to nothing in writing, because then they couldn't change the rules at their whims and instead would have to be consistent in how it works from quarter to quarter.

Are there pilots in a pool that could get or have obtained class dates?..Yes

Are Hogan’s going out?...No, Maybe been close to 10 months or more. Not news.

Is the program changing?...Yes. Still waiting to hear details. Could be awhile.

.

So, no Hogan’s have been administered at C5 for 10 months?

From what I have seen here at C5, yes.

I took the Hogan in February, interviewed in Denver in April. CPP at isn’t perfect but it is creating movement.

Not as much movement as B6 classdates.

I've been at C5 before the CPP was a thing, so I'll be the first to blame them if something goes wrong.

But the CPP is entirely UAL's thing and they control it, with little input from their partners. Hiring typically slows in the summer months due to increased flying everywhere, including mainline. I would hope the company is not "throttling" the amount of pilots for the CPP and I would also hope United isn't doing it either. Any(or all) of these things can be factors.

The CPP is fantastic for those who can get it. I've seen plenty of people go there that deserve it. And more than a few who I feel don't deserve to be there. But the CPP's sole purpose is really a hiring and retention policy for the regional its attached to. I took my chances and didn't get the CPP, so I really don't care about it anymore. It sucks for the guys and gals strung along with it, that's for certain.

I'm probably stating the very obvious, but just like the flow at ENV/PSA/PDT, shouldn't the CPP only be thought of as another tool to move on, vs a golden guaranteed ticket to UAL (which it obviously is not)?

I'd absolutely participate in the CPP, butttttt I'd ALSO have my apps out to ALL the legacies and most of the LCC's/ACMI's, and update them early, hard and often! Not to mention other things like networking like crazy, and hitting the job fair circuit, etc.
