I agree they will have to get bail out money from the bill. If not it will be exactly the same, however they cannot lay off or furlough while trying to get the money so it saves us for sometime at least

With you guys being 40% owned by United, does the bailout protection seep down to you guys too? Why not? Where are the ALPA lawyers?

We were told that the money is on an individual carrier basis. Yes, we’re 40% owned by UA, but 60% is held by our parent company. We are small, so they think we’ll be eligible for some of the small business loans too.

Long story short, no one knows who’s getting what or how yet. But in the near term, if they want to remain eligible, no furloughs and no pay reductions.

If it makes anyone feel any better, as if that might be possible, I was furloughed the day before Christmas in 1991. Recalled and displaced to the J3100 2 days later. Showed up for class on the first Monday in January 1992, then promptly recalled to the SF340, all within about 2 weeks.

Most all “regional” carriers are slaves to their mainline masters, who really don’t know themselves what the hell is going on.
the pilots always wind up on the short end.

Labor always winds up on the short end. FTFY. But you’re right, the mainline masters don’t know either.

There is no timeline on this. They have been promising the demise of 50 seat planes for years. I would not worry about this to much yet, still lots of things to shake out.
