I heard the same last night ( keep in mind people we are in the same base so I am sure it came from the same group). I dont believe it, I feel they misinterpreted 11-09 rev 3s moving dates and Jan 1st...

Since when do you need cash to buy an airline? This is a modern business environment. Cash not required; only leveraged debt.
Are you one of those "professional pilot" aviation, *ahem, degree guys? I sure hope not. Too many of those cockpit monkeys out there.

The POINT is, since it needs to be explained to you, is that Pinnacle is in no financial shape to make any further acquisitions. Cash, no cash, credit or otherwise, they aren't in any position to make moves. They are deep into a M&A mess and have no plans to make it any worse. Hence IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. Besides, what would they gain from this that they didn't gain from the purchase of Colgan?

I didn't put much stock into it, but it was too disconcerting to go unasked. Plus, isn't there something in the contact that prevents them from cancelling only some of the realignment?

I don't know, are you one of those jerks who hides behind his computer and tries to look tough? Seriously man, don't be such a prick. It's a community forum. You do realize that when you say stuff like that, everyone thinks you have self esteem issues or you beat puppies.

They cannot cancel a realignment, only partial cancel a vacancy which this is clearly not the case. Now throw a BK in there and who knows... I do know I flew with a certain scheduling committee member and was told we were still very understaffed and a furlough wont happen ( other part of rumor i heard)

"c. The Company may only cancel a Realignment or Reduction Award if it
cancels the Award and any subsequent Awards in their entirety, before
any Effective Date associated with the Award(s), and all Pilots are
returned to their previously-awarded positions. A Pilot returned to his
previously awarded position will be handled in accordance with paragraph
A.14.i., below."
Which would be the Jan 1st date. Not saying I believe anything will happen but I wonder if that gives them the provision to do so. Food for thought.
